Hi Mo, Shelly Rita and Pat No Little M will be going to nursery tomorrow and Friday. I only have her 3 days a week, as I no longer work 5 days. Her Mum wanted to work part time but could only finmd a full time job 5 long days a week and she has to drive from here to Chiswick most days too. Her Dad works from home mostly, but has to go abroad sometimes. He will be in Rome all next week. I did get rid of the cough for about a week, but it started again today, after Little was coughing and sneezing all day Monday. Like you all say she only needs to be in her own home and having deep sleeps in her own cot and cuddles when she needs them too. I know without working Mum's I wouldn't have a job but sometimes they need to stand back and see how the child is really and care for them too. Oh she won't be at home Saturday either!! she will be with her Dad's mother for the day(so they can go shopping, without her?)
So sad really. Really pleased I was able to stay home with mine, even if we didn't have everything and the children had to save for branded goods like trainers, unlike some of their friends.
Have a peaceful evening and sleep well evryone
Linda :o) Xxx

Hi Shelly nice to hear you have your computer back. I dont think my computer has ever worked so hard as it has these last few weeks.I have been working on so much. I had a cousin get intouch we have not met for 40 years , his dad and My Mother were brother and sister. so I have been filling in all the things he missed , so many emails have been sent to and fro he has said he would like to see me .and when the weather is better wants to call.
The Estate Manger tries to push me at times saying things I ignore her I am here to look after myself and the residents some are very old a couple cannot get out . some other are frightened to say anything. so I talk to them and write it down. then say something at the meetings. I know I must me a old pest but I dont like people walking over me and treating me like a child., This time she came unstuck saying it was the way I read her report and I was wrong if George had not been with me . she would have tried to dismiss it but she could not this time as he was a teacher at Cambridge University and his letters come address as Dr.so she knew she was in the wrong. anyway it is all sorted now till the next time.

Mo my heart goes out to you and the family. it is so upsetting poor man must be beside hisself with worry. lets all pray and send him positive thoughts. there is so much sadness in this world and to talk about it does help so be free to talk wherever you want you can PM me if you feel like it.
Linda you are right alot of people these days put their jobs before thier children I know money is very important but is the job worth putting your child second ?
It is about time you got rid of that cough Linda go to the doctors if you cannot get rid of it . Jean how is your chest now after your spell in hospital. do you have to go back to see them,?
Thank you Pat for your asking about Mike.
Love Rita

Thank you Linda. So little one was still not well. Some parents,do tend to put their jobs first, and children go on the back burner. Is she coming back tomorrow? If she is still poorly will they still expect you to have her, surely not. When children are not well, they normally just want their mummy to give them cuddles, and love.

Mo, sorry to hear about your nephew. You know what they say a trouble shared is a trouble halved. i hope your cough gets better Linda. the change in temperature can't help. One day it's mild and the next day it's freezing cold. Rita glad that Mike is improving.

Dear Mo Glad you can write here about your worries and get a little comfort from us. Be sure that I am thinking of your nephew and hope they can do the operation and that it is sucessful, so that he can see his baby born and grow up
Rita glad that Mike is going on OK
Got the cough back, but I will fight it. Poor child really shouldn't have been here today. Why do these parents feel their jobs are more important than their babies

Hello everyone. I am feeling very down at the moment. I have just been told that my nephew, has got to have more surgery done. He went for a check up today, and the area where they removed the cancerous growth, has now got a cyst on it,and they are afraid that the cancer could grow back on the cyst. They want to try a new proceedure on him, where they wrap the cyst in a wafer thin paper soaked in chemo,to shrink it. M does not want them to open his skull again, and may opt for chemo,if they can't do it by keyhole surgery, but they want to operate on him next Wednesday,as they think operating has more chance of being successful. He has not improved as quickly as they had expected him to, and he still has the fits, and on occasions goes blind for a few hours. He and his other half are expecting their first baby in April, and he wants to be fit enough to attend the birth. It's a hard thing to say to him, but he must have it done, to be around to see his child grow up. Sorry folks for going on about this, but it has helped to just get it of my chest.

Hi
Mike is getting on each day he improves.he is feeling sorry for his self but that is the drugs he is on.
It will seem strange having the last of John Nettles in "Midsummer Murders " but dont worry we will get lots of repeats they will be still going when our Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren are old enough to see.them just like! Murder she wrote " goes on forever, I was watching one a few days ago and it was that old the static got to work on it it kept stopping as though I had pause the thing.
Pauline these people who write these things , especailly the soaps dont know where to put people when they leave they kill them.off murder ot fires of car accidents.

I'm surprised there's anyone left in that place.

Yummy Pat. We have just had pork chops, roast spuds, and veggies. The flamin curser on this laptop, is all over the place. I know I shouldn't blame the lappy, but I am so used to my own, that it takes me twice as long to type my posts. But hopefully, I should get mine back tomorrow. Mind you the last time it went wrong, they had it for ages.
Last of the Misummer Murders tonight,or so I believe. I know Rita will be able to confirm this for me.
How's Mike now Rita. I hope he is still progressing well.
Maddie, how's you keeping now,.has that dreaded cough gone yet.
Hi ya Marilyn, hows your mouth now. Is the gum healing o.k

Rita - I don't have an answer to your query.
During the famine years of c.1845 & later, the ruling British authorities did much to help the people's hunger such as transporting corn from the UK to Ireland. At the same time, Workhouses were set up in Ireland for the poorest of the poor.
These establishments were often overcrowded & delivery of provisions from the UK was often very slow due to maladministration & underdeveloped road networks.
With regards to the curious coin you have, this may have been specially minted to be used as a sort of pre-paid ship journey to entice people to seek a livelihood elsewhere such as America or Australia.
But, this is just my speculation.
You could, perhaps, send a photocopy of the coin to the Irish Embassy in London. They might be able to research the coin for you.
