Hello all. hope your day is going well.
Oh Rita, your dinner sounds delicious, I love home made rice pudding.
Linda, are you feeling any better today, hope you are.
Dermot, love the poem, thank you for sharing it.
Marilyn, I watched the wedding programme out of curiosity, I spoke yesterday to a very old Romany lady, she is disgusted with the tinkers allowing the cameras to follow them around, but as she said tinkers will do anything for grushi.
Mo, how is your nephew.
Hope you all have a good day, well, what is left of it.
Go with God and in good health.

Hi Rita
No nothing about the census, but I don't read papers usually.

I went to see my hair specialist today and have come home with some new things that I am very pleased with.

Have some tidying up to do as hubby has gone to work and some ironing.

See you later

Linda :o) XxX

I just had my dinner I did roast beef (cheated boil in the bag with gravey )
I did roast Potato's and white cabbage , I made a large rice pudding and use a small tin of evaporated milk and skimmed milk it was lovely all nice and creamy .
I am going to have a cup of tea in a moment. then wash my hair before I do anything else.

Has anyone had their 2011 census papers in yet ? I have a thread on the boards started 16th Jan and checked up on some thing to find some had her papers in but nothing has been in the media so I am wondering why?

Rita Report 3 Feb 2011 11:12

Marilyn that weired getting a pre-med that far back usually they do that week before hand to make sure all the heart and lungs and blood pressure are in order before they operate, are you sure he is to wait two months for that operation ?
They might have made a mistake.?
Did you get a card from Devon Family History Society for this years membership ? I sent off my cheque and never heard anything from them ?
That is strange your residents associtaion , we hire a hall it is used by Scouts Guides and Borwnies. and elderly people weekly. we hire it twice a year. when I said we I ment the Anchor Trust who own the lands we lease.,
Dont they have a treasurer to deal with the subs ?if so he should collect them make a date they should be paid.
I have always been into committee I am afarid I am one of those people who dont like to be passed over as an idiot (even if I might be lol )
I have been on three committees at the same time before now.

Jean I did watch thet BFGW a few times but it got too much for me to see the way some of them acted and little kids who could barely walk in dresses that weighed three times as much as they did.. but it appears by the viewing figure many people viewing it and are enjoying it..

I am sitting here typing away and all I can hear is the guns going off from the Army base either the one at Aldershot or Pirbright when the wind is in the right direction I hear them all the time. they have been at it all morning.

I am off to make a cup of coffee now,

Rita

My Mammy.
---------------

When my prayers were poorly said
Who tucked me in my little bed
And smacked me till my bum was red -
My Mammy.

Who took me from my cosy cot
And put me on my ice-cold pot
And made me wee when I could not -
My Mammy.

Who would my hair so neatly part
And hug me gently to her heart
And sometimes squeezed me till I would (Censored) -
My Mammy.

And when at night the bed would creek
I raised my head to have a peep
Who yelled at me to go asleep -
My Daddy!

Morning my lovelies ,

MO...Sorry to hear about nephew.....poor lad. I'm sure they will do there best for him.

Had a nice dinner last night at my sisters Roast chicken.and talked until I ran out of conversation ....and that's hard to do ..LOL

Rita . would love to have you on our management committee, as we are very rural we have to pay for our own electric lighting & Sewage works etc, not everyone pays their subs at the right date......and it always causes problems .
So at the meetings its usually Pete that speaks on behalf of the residents that pay on time , with you there I'm sure they would ALL Pay Up !!! LOL

Jean ....I felt that those Gypsies were not true Romany so I quite agree with you , but still fascinated by them.

Where's MADDIE ?? haven't seen her for a while....hope she's OK

I have written to GR about my little man face, so waiting to see what they have done with him ......but I did have a surprise from GR this morning .....they have reduced my billing for membership to £7-96 !!! ....cant be bad can it ???

Going up the hospital this morning....Pete s turn ..LOL just for a Pre Med for his op.
its going to be about 2months time ,so don't know what the hurry is

Hope you all have a great day .....its sunny Devon at the moment ..

Morning all.

Mo, I'm so sorry to read about your nephew, I hope you can talk him in to doing what's best for his health. That cyst might have had something to do with the fits starting. I can understand he doesn't want another massive operation but it sounds like it's the best option. He can't take chances!!

Rita, I hope Mike is having less pain each day. Once he gets home he'll feel better about everything.

Linda, it's not just this winter that you've been ill, you were ill all through last winter as well. You do seem to pick up everything the little ones get, your immune system just isn't working properly is it?

I feel really sorry for little M, it's a pity her mam can't get a part-time job - so she can spend more time with her.

Rita, I hope that Mike is continuing to make good progress and will soon be at home with his family.

Have a good day,

Hi Linda, the doctor told me when I was first diagnosed that once it is in your system it never leaves you and can recur at any time, when I left hospital they said if I started with a cough or a cold I had to go straight to GP, I have to go back for a chest xray in 2 weeks.
Take care wont you.

Thank you Jean
I just worry that it is the sarcoidosis returning, never want that chest pain again !!! As apparently because it is autoimmune it is still in me and could come back again.
I will possibly retire from the minding in April as I don't think I want to go through another winter of illness like this year

Hello everyone, hope things are well with you.
Mo am so very sorry to read about your nephew, my prayers and positive thoughts are with him and all the family. and the little one expected in April, I do hope he will be well enough to be present at the birth.
Rita, good news that Mike is making progress. I have to go back for a chest xray every month at the moment.
Shelly glad you have got your laptop back, bet you was lost without it.
Glad they didn't kill Tom Barnaby off at the end of Midsomer Murders, suppose it leaves it open for him to come out of retirement.
I have been watching My Big Fat Gypsy wedding for the last 3 weeks, must say it doesn't represent the true Romany weddings, but the people taking part are Irish tinkers not really gypsies, most of them seem to have become settled ans live in houses. They must be getting quite well paid for allowing cameras to film them.
Will say good night now,and wish you all a peaceful night.
Jeniwren xx
Linda, I do hope your cough clears again, take care. xx
