Who remembers a song called Mony Mony by Tommy James and the Shondelles. It was a song from 1968. I was dancing in the living room!

Stephen2009 Report 10 Feb 2011 19:50

Snowdrops.....the wood near me has loads that come up. So delicate to look at but fairly hardy to survive.

My daffodils are really sprouting now. Looking forward to my first blooms.

I'm the graden labourer..... Mrs Stephen has the green fingers.

Mo in Kent Report 10 Feb 2011 19:34

Hi Maz, yes I did plant the snowdrops after flowering. My neighbour is a very keen gardener, and wouldn't give them to me till I had prepared the soil etc.

Oh and by the way, my ancestors came from Stoke Dameral, Devonport,in Devon, and from Millbrook, Cremfill, Loose, in Cornwall. The rest came from Dorset, Portsmouth and the Scily Isle.
The Irish side came from the Aran Islands, County Galway.
Oh boy what a mixed bag we are.

I have loads in the lane where I live and transplant them in my garden soon after they always take....

Maddie I forgot about your family from Devon ....so that makes you as well that can be classed as a MISS UK...........LOL

Rita,

I suffer a bit from a 'hissing' noise in my ears.I've become used to it but it is a real nuisance at times.

Consultant says probably due to a combination of my diving days and being too near to explosions.

I maybe shouldn't have gone to so many firework displays. ROFL

Crikey ! I'm beginning to sound like I'm ready fro the scrapheap.

No thank you Rita. Isn't that just typical though........ you get good blood results but then something else comes along to spoil your day.

Sssshhh Stephen, don't give any clues.

Rita Report 10 Feb 2011 17:15

well done Dermot not sure my Ancesters would agree on alot of that. ?they were all church going people . poor but fair minded.my Great Grandfather got a fine through selling Liqure with out a licence and was fined £5 in 1871 he had his named plastered all over the paper Hontion one. I wonder if the vicar brought any of his beer. Lol the revenue men sued him.

I have around 8 or 9 generations of my family all born in Devon right back to 1600's

Mums family came from Somerset and Scotland.

I didnt put the snowdrops in I think the birds dropped them in passing.

I think they must have dropped the seed on there away around.

I am going mad at the moment with my tintius it comes every so often and I could go up the wall with it.

anyone want to borrow it for a while.

Well Stephen, as I'm the nearest to you - you can start on mine. We always have to get someone in to do the decorating and I don't think they do that good of a job for the money they charge.

And thank you very much for the special delivery I got today, it was waiting for me when I got back from my aunt's. You're a very good packer!!

Linda, how come you always manage to fit more into your day than I do? I never seem to get much done, mind you, I'm never in......... that might have something to do with it.

Stephen2009

Stephen2009 Report 10 Feb 2011 16:47

I should get myself a wee job going round all the houses of our Friendly Thread ladies.

I enjoy painting and decorating, plumbing, joinery, etc etc. Just love to see a good job well done.

I'd charge a reasonable rate and maybe through in a bit extra.....for free. ROFL

Hi everyone.
Dermot, I can't claim to be a Kentish Maid, as I am Essex born and bred.
But we have some rare beauties here as well, myself NOT included.
Like Shelly, we are rare Essex gals, like pearls from the ocean. LOL
But many thanks for the description of Devon folks.

Hi Marilyn , when are you of on your travels again. I presume it's back to the good ol U.S.A.
Don't forget Shelly's wind chime this time will you.

Pauline, my friends grandaughter does attend a special needs nursery a couple of half days a week.

Rita, I love looking at my neighbours garden. She has loads of snowdrops in bloom. She gave me some of them to plant,a few years ago, but unfortunatley they never did take in my garden. My fingers are not green enough me thinks.

Hi Stephen, I hope you have had an easier day today.

Linda, suggesting decorating to my OH is like swearing at him. What room are you going to decorate.
