Afternoon all,
well the sun has been out here but has disappeared again. At least I was able to get the little ones out for some fresh air. Went to a charity shop for a poke about and bought a small (2ft square) coffee table, solid wood and strong £15. The top is watermarked but I think once I get the sander and varnish out and get to work on it, it will be ok. I'm really pleased with it and love a challenge.
Patricia I hope you feel better soon.
Tonight I'm hoping to do some research on my GGG grandfather who has so far proved impossible to find out about. I only know his name, approximate Y O B and occupation despite my best efforts at uncovering more.
Back later

That Chickweed is a nuisance Linda, my garden seems to get so much of it. As fast as I pull it out, it seems to reappear.
Tomorrow, we are starting to paint the lounge and dining room.
Why is it when the sun starts to shine everything looks so grubby. So a quick paint round will soon sort it out.
We went to B+Q's yesterday, and took advantage of our discount card, as wednesday is pensioners day. It saved us £6.00 on the paints.

Pat if you don't feel any better tomorrow, why not stay at home. At least that way, you will have the whole weekend to recover.

Patricia
Just make sure you really are better before going in tomorrow, the lemsips could be supressing your virus and then you will be poorly for longer.

Sound like your Mum telling you off don't I !!

Take care

Hi Patricia
I hope you are feeling a bit better. Is today a day off work or is it because you are unwell? If you are sick why do you need to go in tomorrow? Surely it would be better to stay home warm and dry and have the weekend to get back on your feet.

Mo well done on the start to your spring cleaning. Mine will have to wait til I get back from my hols.

I did get out in the garden and sort some pots out. Believe it or not I had bulbs srouting in the garage, now they are in the pots, much more chance for them. I also pulled some early weeds.... chickweed if anyone knows what that is? It was everywhere.

Sun still shinning it is lovely and makes you feel so much brighter

Linda :o) XxX

PS Sorry it took so long it posted twice in the end !!!

Hi Linda.
What a glorious day we have here in Kent. The washing is actually out on the line drying for a change. I have changed all the bedding, and washed the bathroom mats.
Some of the weeds have been pulled up from the garden, I can't believe how quickly they are shooting up as well.
Enjoy yourself out in your garden this afternoon.

It is actually sunny here so will try to do some tidying up this afternoon in the garden

Morning all
Bit brighter here this morning
Hoping to get out for a walk before hubby has to go to work. It was after midnight when he got home last night. Why am I unable to go to bed before he comes in?
Have son's spaniel coming to stay for a few days as they have a busy weekend and mine will be quiet with hubby working. So I will have to go out for some walks eh. Good excuse.

Have a good day everyone

Popping in to say hello before I go to work. Not raining this morning so hopefully will get to park with little ones this afternoon.
My cough is back too but GP says my chest is clear so thats good. It must be the 4th cold I've had this winter, so many people are the same, I can't remember such a winter for germs!
Hope those of you with coughs and sniffles feel better, I think we could all do with some warm sunny weather.
Have a good day everyone

Hi Pauline
I think she is mixing with too many young children at the nursery on Thurs and Fridays. Her parents choice as they both want to be very full time workers Mum leaves early and is lucky if she is home before Little is picked up by Daddy. He works a lot from home, but cannot look after her too. And he is away a bit too. Recently he has been to Singapore Rome and Germany. Jobs are important but not if it means you don't see little ones growing up and their first 5 years go so quickly.
Mine didn't start school until they were over 5 years old. Locally they only have 2 intakes now of rising 5's so they start in Sept if they are born before the end of the year ie Christmas. Then January intake for all those born between Jan and End of August so some are only 4yrs 4 mths old. From September 2012 there will only be one intake a year in September !! Some children born in August will only just be 4 years old. Some might be ready others will definately be pushed too far including staff having 30 children to learn school routines and being away from home for the first time.
So glad I will not be involved in this.
Oh they are also talking about taking 2 year olds into state nursery for 15 hours a week too. Will the workers spend most of their time changing nappies ??

Joy of Joys
If it aint broke why fix it??
