Afternoon all

bit chilly here today and tiny patches of blue sky

Had a fun time last night out with friends, my meal was ok, I had lasange (?), there were over 30 of us, we couldn't fit on one table so we sat in groups in the same part of the resturant, we was charged 10% service but the waiters earned it!

Just finished eating a cream cake mmmmm

Afternoon All.

Boy have I been a busy little bee this morning.

Taken the dog out, done the ironing, prepared lunch ready for cooking, made brekkie and even had time for a swoon over Neil, narrating the History of Scotland.

Hope everyone is warm and well.

Catherine, good news. Onwards and upwards.

See ya later

Catherine thats good news l hope he continues to progress in this way it must be a real boost for the family when that happens.
bless him.

Stephen we must count our blessing I moan now and then but I forget the age I have reached.
I have been enjoying the programme on BBC1 where we have been all over parts of Scotland watching the young people mountain climbing. and the crossing as they are calling this looking after each other. I watched the people digging the peat up and piling it for their fuel. hard work I would not like to do it. They showed us the seals and some waiting for the wool to go off them so they can go into the river. they must way a ton. all that blubber.I use to seal watch in Norfolk but can never recall seeing any with wool on them.
we also saw Neil on his walks around the beaches made me want to join him going walk about.
I watched this while sitting enjoying a cup of coffee.
My younger son had an accident when he was 18 and lost the sight in his right eye he said it is like looking through a plastic bag.

Shelley if my tininitus wasnt so bad I would lay in bed longer but the quiet makes it worse so I get up and switch the radio on.

Have a great day.everyone

Tea or Coffee

Porridge or Cereals, Poached Salmon, Scrambled Eggs, Toast, Bacon Rolls.

Morning All.

Breakfast as promised...........get tore in.

Hope folks are their families are going to have a better day today.

Rita, No, not cataracts. The problem is caused by a wee accident I had way back in 1982. The eye and surrounding muscles were damaged.
Nearly lost my eye then but they did a good job and it has done me ok for all that time. Suppose it's just an age thing now. Anyway if that's all my problem is...I'm doing alright.

Heading out for a day with my family. One of Grandads daft days. We are going to a Beach and Forest area in Fife. Tentsmuir Forest area.
Will explore the forest and beach for signs of the people who lived there thousands of years ago. Count the seals on the rocks........anything up to 2000 haul themselves up to rest and breed.

Ride our Bikes on the Forest Trails or have a leisuerly walk.

Play Hide and Go Seek, and generally behave like children again.

Then we have a big fry up of bacon and sausages cooked on a fire.

My wee grandchildren love it. And so do I.

Yep ! Grandad Stephen is a real Fruit and Nut Case

Have a good day ya all. Catch you tonight.

Good Evening,

Well I have had a productive day. Been shopping, taken Charlie for a long walk, done the finish of my sewing, cooked twice, and fell asleep in the chair. Oh dear, losing it slowly. lol

Cath, hope your brother is improving. Rita, trust you are feeling better now the tablets are sorted.

Mo. Please believe me, I am white. The photo you have is about 6 years old. I may not be 93, but I am white. lol

Saying that, I don't know what you look like. I could not download your piccies. We will all know each other my instinct.

The haunted look, the cross eyes from looking at certificates, and the pen behind the ears. We will know each other I am sure. pmsl

Just orft to cook me pasta.

take care everyone.

Mo in Kent Report 5 Mar 2011 17:59

Oh Cath, I am so sorry to hear about your brother being so unwell. God willing, now that they have managed to get some liquid anti-biotics into him, he will quickly improve.
It's such a worry for the whole family,at times like this.

Maddie I hope Kevin is feeling a little better today.
I suppose this little grey haired lady, of 93, will walk into the meet with her head scarf on. Is that how we are all going to know it's you.
Thank god we have seen a photo of you, or we would walk past you in the street, looking for a poor wee woman with grey hair and wearing nothing but a daffodil.

Yvonne, I hope you have a better meal than we had at F+B's. You will enjoy yourself anyway, especially if someone has a birthday, and they dim the lights to sing a happy birthday to them. The night we were there, the lights were of, more than on, and half the time we couldn't see what we were eating. lol

Pauline, Marilyn likes her G+T's, so you will have to be the wine taster. Plus she lurves her whip, they dont call her Miss Whiplash the second for nothing dont ya know. Poor Pete, people think he's got sunburn, but it's not that, it's where our Marilyn has got so carried away, she's taken the skin of his back. lol Mwah loves ya Maz,you know i'm only kidding.

Rita, thank goodness you realised it was your tablets causing your problems.
Sometimes I don't think doctors look at our records, to know what we should or should not be taking.
I know that my doctor has got my records in front of her, on the computer screen, but she still asks me what I am allergic to, if only she looked at her screen she would know.

It's been a lovely day here in Kent, but it has just started to rain. Oh well we can't have everything can we.

We have finished decorating the lounge and dining room now, thank the lord, but we have still got the kitchen to tackle yet. But that can wait till next week, we intend to take it easy tomorrow.

How was your roast dinner Marilyn, did you enjoy your roast tatties.

No Shelly today yet then I see.

Afternoon all,
very many thanks for your prayers, positive thoughts and kind wishes.
Have been to visit him this afternoon and although still very poorly has at least managed some water and liquid antibiotics, his temperature has come down to 39.5. I hate to see him suffering so much, MS has robbed him of a life since he was diagnosed at 23 and he has been paralysed from neck down for 10 years now. He is one of lifes lovely people and never once have I heard him utter "why me".

I hope you are all well and Rita I hope doctor can sort out your medication for you. Will catch up with all postings tomorrow when I'm not so tired.
Love to you all,

Cath xxx

Tomorrow’s News Today (Part 3).

Local councils will employ random ‘sniffer wardens’ who will target smokers in company cars particularly during ‘no smoke week‘. In addition, cars stopped by police for any reason will be checked inside for signs of smoking such as overflowing ashtrays. You have been warned.

Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury, is to declare that his ‘bestest friend in the whole world’ is Archbishop of Westminster, the Most Rev Vincent Nichols, despite the latter nicking some of the formers’ congregation. Never have the two faiths been so closely connected since King Henry VIII. Vincent Nichols has offered to help out at the forthcoming Royal wedding & is awaiting his official invitation.

Queen Elizabeth’s visit to Ireland, the first to Dublin by a reigning British monarch for more than 100 years, is expected to take place over three days in May. No doubt she might pick up a point or two about cricket.

Co-incidentally, starting on Monday 7th March, BBC2 will be showing a programme entitled ‘ Royal Upstairs Downstairs’ which will reveal the extraordinary lengths the gentry went to when Queen Victoria decided she was going to pay a visit. This will provide avid viewing for the Irish Government in preparation for Queen Elizabeth’s stay.

Newly elected Louth TD, former Westminster MP & Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams said the visit is a bit premature. Would another 100 year delay suit you, Mr Adams?

Prince Andrew may accompany Her Majesty. As his current employment is likely to come to an abrupt end shortly, he has offered his services to the Dublin Government to renegotiate, for a fee of course, the terms of the Irish bail-out loan. He claims to know a few multi-billionaires. How very opportune!

Conservative head office will write to the few newly elected MPs advising them that cronyism is dead & nominations of their family members for city and political positions, which have come available following the election, would not be welcome. Rumours that existing MPs married to other MPs should seek a divorce are denied.

Reading does not appear to be a national accomplishment in schools anymore. Nevertheless, the Government is about to give away over one million books free to the general public. Look out for an increase in the number of books being donated to your local charity shops who will attempt to sell them for about 50p each. War & Peace for 50p - a real bargain, don’t you think? At least some financial benefit will come out of this exercise. Who knows - some books might be read too.

‘British At Work’ - a TV programme being re-broadcast soon. Ideal viewing for those who like a bit of nostalgia.
