Just a few tasters on this special day to get things started:-
A ventriloquist is telling Irish jokes in Davy Byrne's pub in Grafton Street, Dublin when O'Leary, an irate Irishman, stands up shouting, "You're making out we're all dumb and stupid. I oughtta punch you in the nose".
'I'm sorry sir, I...........' "Not you" says O'Leary. "I'm talking to that little fella on your knee". _____________________________________ Kieran O'Connor always slept with his gun under his pillow. Hearing a noise at the foot of the bed, he shot off his big toe.
"Thank the Lord I wasn't sleeping at the other end of the bed" Kieran said to his friends in Donegal's pub. "I would have blown my head off". _________________________________________________________
Pat and Jimmy-Joe met and one said to the other,
"Have ye seen Mulligan lately, Pat?"
Pat said, "Well, I have and I haven't."
His friend asked, "Shure, and what d'ye mean by that?"
Pat said, "It's like this, y'see...I saw a chap who I thought was Mulligan, and he saw a chap that he thought was me. And when we got up to one another...it was neither of us." ________________________________________________

I'm back but not for long, lol. Any luck Shelly, I'm on a Mo mission too. Lost track of the time. I need a piece of toast and Marmite methinks, feeling a bit peckish. Might help my brain get back into gear. Back later, maybe, ~~~~~~~~~~~ to everyone,

Thats makes the news even better Linda, well done to her. My eldest grandaughter had to sit her test three times before they gave her a pass mark. She was making stupid mistakes, and it was really only the nerves that has set in, to cause the errors. They said she was to over cautious. Now how can you be over cautious, with the way the roads are these days. But I think at one time she had a queue of traffic behind her, she was driving to slowly. LOL
Evening Cath, I hope you have had a good day.

Pauline it could be somewhere in India, Shri Lanka, or Ceylon. G. Grandmother and G.G.Grandfather are a real mystery. I know that G.G.Grandfather was a ships steward, but have no idea on what shipping line. This family of mine are a real poser, Cath and Shelly can vouch for that.
Linda your Niece did very well passing her test first time. How old is she. My grandaughter has got her test next month, she's 18, but I dont hold up much hope of her passing first time, they are really hard on youngsters around this way.

Evening everyone Little has just gone and won't be here again til Monday so I have time to do what I want for 4 days. Maddie do send info and I will see what I can find , you never know new eyes and all that. Got mor knitting wool today and sunflower seeds, mixed seed and peanuts for the birds. They were soon out there and singing away. Walked to the school this afternoon with a friend(baby due in 4 weeks) after she'd come with her little boy to play with Little M. Then I walked to the post box. Birthday card and a congrats card sent to my niece who has just passed her driving test, 1st time. But no car yet.
Enjoy your evening everyone. Rita at least you won't have to hear them drilling all night.

Maddie, the others wont recognise me with my mask on. Ooooh I am so flippin annoyed with my hair. I should have stuck to my original hairdresser, at least that way I wouldn't feel so self contious.
Good luck with the blood test tomorrow Rita. It will be lovely when they say you can leave the steroids alone completely. I didn't realise that our local workmen travelled to your part of the country as well. It makes me laugh when you see workmen, who have dug big holes anywhere, and are sitting in their vans drinking tea, instead of getting on with the job in hand. This must have been one of their early finishes days. LOL
Marilyn, both Cath and Shelly are up my tree. My family are such a mixed bunch from all over the world it seems. There was I thinking that we mostly came from Ireland and this country, but hey ho a travelling they did go. I know what you mean about the days all mingling, and losing track of what day it is, when I wake up each morning, (apart from being grateful that I wake up at all), I lay there for a while trying to remember what day it is and then try to remember what we had for dinner the day before, so that I dont cook the same meal two days on the trot. LOL

Yvonne that is what they said to me and I have been putting the drops in like a good girl but I have had to wait three weeks. one ear is clear the other is still blocked. I dont know if it will be any better when I have it syringed I hope so.? I have to have a blood test done tomorrow at the surgery to see if I can go down another steriod I started at 10 mg now I am down to 6 mg. I asked the doctor if this was anything to do with my ears being as they are ?she said no.
To day our eatste manager called and said be careful as you go out the main door the meter drain cover has risen even more . I went to have a look and told her it was water that was causing it to raise and the Water company should come and see to it.. it was standing right up. she phoned and came and said they will be here within four hours they arrived two large vans and got to work after two hours we had red and white boards all around the meters outside the main doors and holes dug and metal boards put across them so we old ones would not fall down. they lower a large pipe and when the Estate Manager went off to her second job they put the boards around and cleared off home at 2.,30 it amused me. I suppose we will see them back tomorrow drills going and banging about. didnt matter to me as their noise took my mind off mine.
Then I got a call from a solar panel company they were in the aera and would like to come and give me a price to have mine done. I said sorry I am in a retirement flat and they are very small rooms so perhaps you would like to get intouch with the leashold owners. they hung up quickly.
I have had a laugh today.

Yvonne, I hope your MiL, will be o.k, and not in to much pain.
I am looking forward to Saturday, BUT, I had my haircut today, and I think I should have gone to the butchers instead. She has hacked at my hair, and my fringe is really really short, booo hoooo, I feel bald now, the butcher may have made a better job of it. So I need no mickey taking, on Saturday pleeeeze.
I have had a heck of a job getting onto this site this afternoon, so if you don't see me tonight, you will know why.

Afternoon all
Rita pleased you had a better night, My FiL is having problems with his ears at the moment, nurse at surgery has told him to put a drop of warm olive oil in for a week then he's got to have them syringed, he's deaf as a post anyway and should wear hearing aids but doesn't. We will take lots of photos on Saturday and send them to you. It would be nice to arrange a little 'friendly' visit to you and have tea and a chat, what does everyone else think?
MiL still holding on, doctor saw her Monday and gave painkillers and something to settle her stomach, he thinks she's picked up a bug,
(MiL and FiL are divorced, in case you were confused)
Sorry to read about your friend Stephen, such a shame
foggy and damp this morning x

Morning folks, Rita glad you managed to get some sleep at last. Shelly I don;t usually go to bed too late as I have to be up at 6. Last night I had a thumping headache so went a bit earlier. Taken this morning off work as it was still lingering a little. Feel ok now though. Hope everyone is well and warm, its a good bit colder here today and quite foggy so I suppose that means no newspapers and post! Enjoy your day,
Yvonne, hope you are alright.

Morning I did get to sleep last night I took a pill and woke at 5 to go to the loo and back to bed slep till 6. 30. I am trying not to think of this noise one ear is Ok it is the other that is now causing the problem.
I was sitting having a cup of tea this morning watching those poor people in Japan they have had everything thrown at them. now they have snow in places quiet heavy as well and then they have this nuclear trouble. it is alright for these heads of the countries to say your safe one minuite then admit your not the next. all that, excaped and is floating above in the air. so everyone gets affected.
thats put a damper on things.
Hope all you lady have a good weekend is someone going to take a photo to show us, for us that cannot go. ?
