I tried playing darts once. I was rubbish at it! It isn't easy as it looks. One reason I like reading is that's it's so good for an armchair traveller like myself. I'm reading a novel based in Corfu and it's not My Family and Other Animals. Corfu sounds very nice. Tomorrow is the first day of Spring!

I wouldn't mind Yvonne, but she hid those grey hairs very well didn't she. And for a 93 year old she was very agile, especially when she was dancing on the table. And as for doing all that close needle work, weeell, she must have used a magnifying glass. The raffle prizes were very good as well weren't they.
I agree with Linda, about the hike in the prices of food in the shops. We don't always want to buy large portions, and to have to freeze things down. It's like buying the 4 packs of meat from a supermarket for £10.00, there is to much in one tray to be eaten at one time, so half has to be frozen down for another day. The supermarkets are catering for families, but not for the older generation. And yes I agree it is economical to freeze things, but being able to buy what we need, and use that day, to me makes more sense. What is everyone elses opinion on this topic please.

The Pig & the Cow.
“Why is it” said the wealthy parishioner to the Parish Priest after Mass, “that people call me stingy when they all know that when I die, all I have goes to the Church”?
“Let me tell you a fable about a pig & a cow”, replied the Priest. “The pig was unpopular while the cow was loved. This puzzled the pig”.
“People speak warmly of your gentle nature & your sorrowful eyes”, the pig said to the cow. “They think you are generous because each day you give them milk & cream. But, what about me? I give them everything I have. I give bacon & ham. Yet, no one likes me. Why is that?
“Do you know what the cow replied?” said the Priest. The cow said to the pig, “Perhaps it is because I give while I’m still living”.

Hi all.
Thanks for sending me the photos Marilyn, got them no bother, don't know why Maddie was having problems with them bouncing back to her. Thanks for trying though Maddie, looks like you all had a great time.
Mo, I think you must be shrinking because Maddie and Yvonne looked a lot taller than you. It's a really good photo of the three of you together though. Looking forward to seeing Yvonne's photos now.
Dermot, my husband tells me I shouldn't speak unless I have something intelligent to say. Obviously I take no notice............... I'd never get the chance to speak if I did take notice of him.

Morning everyone, So Stephen, you've put away your black cloak etc e tc. It's Monday morning and I'm at my desk!
Dermot, I like to think myself as a nice person. The fact that I'm a bit hapless doesn't really matter! Life is too short to be horrible to anyone. Work time now x

Morning all Bit drab here this morning hopefully it will clear later and give us some sunshine.
Marilyn could you please send the photos to me too as Mo managed to send 3, not sure what others there are.
Rita such a long wait for syringing. Hubby dislodged some wax when he was swimming on holiday. We have been using Otex for a week now, little change. So I rang to get an appointment this morning. The ONLY nurse that does it is on holiday this week, he has an appointment for Monday 4th April. " weeks on. If we cure it ourselves, then I will cancel the appointment. Why do Drs no longer do any treatments themselves? They don't do blood tests or blood pressure either. The more pay they get the less patient care they do !!!!
Sorry moan over.
Have a good day
Linda :o) XxX
PS Maddie the bookmarks were lovely and I am sure appreciated. Glad Emma's marriage was new to you, were you able to read the second time I sent it?

Generally, few express the qualities of a living person because it could be thought of as flattery.
Saying bad things of a dead person doesn't make sense since the person is no longer a competitor.
If you are not going to say a good thing of somebody, the best is to say nothing.
What would you like people to say of you? Not easy to answer, is it?

Patricia,
Bored at Mass. Surely not.
I must tell you someday of the wind up that the Archbishop and I did to our local Parish Priest and the congregation when we were celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the founding of our Church.
