Mo in Kent Report 26 Mar 2011 21:08

Thanks for the laughs Dermot, just what I needed to cheer me up.

Have a good stretch out in the bed tonight Stephen, I just hope it's a warm night, or you will need to cuddle up to ' Fluffy Paws'.
You must have worked hard doing that tiling, it's not like you to admit to being tired.

Shelly, you are very lucky that the tooth has stopped playing you up. But if it's still not good by monday, PLEASE pluck up the courage and go to the dentist, even if it's only to get some anti-biotics to clear any infection in your gum.

Mo, Lilly sounds lovely and is doing well. I can understand your worry about your grandchildren going to Australia (if it happens). Children grow up so fast and you'd miss so much, fingers crossed they will stay.
Off to curl up with a book and a cuppa.
Back in morning

Mo in Kent Report 26 Mar 2011 19:20

Hi there everyone.
I am wondering how Shelly is tonight, and hoping that she's not in to much pain.
Maddie, I have been reading the book by Madhur Jaffrey, that I won in the raffle last Saturday. It's about her early life in India. I have to admit it's bit heavy going for little old me.
Did you see on the news about the idiots, who caused trouble at todays march in London.
Ordinary people were trying to make a point, and then the stupid no brainers decided to put there three penny worth in. I believe they said that three policemen had been injured.
It's a good job you got out and about early this morning, and didn't get caught up in it.

Cath, I can understand your falling asleep, after Fin had gone home.
When our three went home, after their visit this afternoon, both of us were exhausted.
But it was lovely to see baby Lilly. She is so alert now, and she chuckles away when you tickle her under her chin.
She has gained more weight, and now weighs 11lb 14oz.
I am a bit worried, as the mother of the two eldest of my sons three children, is talking about emigrating to Australia, and taking them with her.
I know I sound mean, but I hope she changes her mind, I want to be able to see them grow up.

Rita, I see that Oxford won the boat race then, I bet you wish you had placed a bet on them to win.

Evening folks,
hope everyone is well and shelly has done something about her tooth.
Fin went home at 1.30 and by 2 I was asleep in my chair, lol. OH gone to pick up a Chinese takeaway, all that sleep has made me hungry. Will be back later, I want to get on the case of Alexander and Ethel Johnston and see if I can find any children born to them although I have been told years ago that they didnt have any -who knows-. I still want to find their marriage.
Marilyn you are a treasure, what list did you find him on.
Been a beautiful day sunny, still and warm = perfect.

Morning all, it's very dull and damp here. Haven't been outside yet but it doesn't look warm. Glad I got the bedding washed yesterday, couldn't have dried it outside today.

Stephen, you could put that barn in your back garden and use it as a holiday home for all of us. Now wouldn't that be nice - having all of us staying in your back garden? Mind you, Mo gets a bit rowdy, and you'd need a good supply of gin for Marilyn.

Shelly, you really need to see somebody about that abscess. I know you're good at DIY but leave the medical stuff to the professionals.

Did the boys get in to see the film?

Stephen2009

Stephen2009 Report 26 Mar 2011 08:15

Morning Early Risers !

Overcast here but still dry......sunshine later hopefully.

Marilyn, We have decided not to move South, but instead buy the Barn, and if it's as big as you say it is, we will dismantle it, bring it North and use it as a SMALL extension to our present house.

Bet you're glad you wont be hearing Bagpipes early in the morning.

It's ages since I had my wee lassies stay over with us. I love having them here. I spoil them rotten, and we do daft things. I read them Scottish stories from the Western Isles, they think they are great.

Today I am helping a friend tile out her en-suite bathroom. She knows I do a good finishing job.........I get 'Fluffy Paws' to scrub their backs. Well gotta make sure the everything works fine. ROFL

Have a good day ya all.

Catch you later.

Rita Report 26 Mar 2011 07:44

morning all.
It is a grey old day here hope you have a bit of sun where you are. ?

I was looking at my 2011 census glad to be getting rid of it on Monday when I can go and post it. I copied the pages I had to fill and so I now have a copy of it..

yesterday I was looking for the surnames list where you get your names and can see if anyone is looking for anyone on your list.for a match.?
but when you go to surnames now you get a list of you tree names and bith dates. I dont like that very much as surely people can see that. or is it only myself that see the names.?
GR keep altering these things. when you use to log on your got your family tree listed and now you get messages and that is a problem trying to get onto general topics.

Morning everyone,
misty and mild start to the day here.
Marilyn thank you for your help. I did wonder if he might be visiting his sister so that ties in nicely. I have looked on Emerald Ancestors but marriage is not there but I was told Ethel may have lived in Danube Street, and that info you found would suggest she did. At least I can narrow down marriage taking place between 1920 and 1929. (((hug))) for your help.
Shelly please go and get that abcess sorted out, they can cause all sorts of problems. Be a brave girl and call the dentist.
Mo I love having the little ones for a sleepover and as you say they are angelic when asleep. Fin is a bit of a handful and my daughter wont believe it when I tell her he slept from 8pm until 6.30am, lol. Hes just demolished a big bowl of cereal and two crumpets for breakfast.

Hope you all enjoy a nice day, back later,

I'm here ...LOL

Been up Caths tree ....but come down as I haven't got access to Belfast marriage records !!

Cath..... Alexander seemed to have married before he went to Quebec in 1929 as he puts his wife's name Ethel Johnston as nearest relation in Darnbe ? Street Belfast.

Looks like he married in Belfast ????

His Sister name that he was staying with in Arlington Ave Toronto Canada was Agnes Martin.

Alexander Johnston was a ( Marine Engineer).

So if you can find anyone that's got access to Belfast Marriages you might be lucky

He was in Canada from May -Aug 1924.....so another possibility of a Canadian marriage in that short time ????.

I'll keep trying ....I know Shelly might be clever and come up with something .

Shelly hows that tooth ????

Maddie... Hi my lovely ....

Stevey Boy.....you got a fat Bank account because the for sale Barn is massive .!!..
