Oh I wish I was tiny Maddie. I am a size 14/16 in most of my clothes. I was a 10/12 before the Menopause (sp), then the weight piled on. But I am happy with the way I am ,and will NOT diet for man nor beast.
I don't think we have pic's of Cath, Pat or our Jean. But they are probably thinking the same not knowing what the heck we look like.
Anyway, you make yourself sound like you are huuuuge, and you are NOT,no way not never not anyhow.
Don't forget to send me some trifle down the cyber hatch tomorrow, I will eat your share for you if you like.

Linda you are soo good, still doing your knitting. Which country are you knitting for this time, or is it for a local baby hospital.
I have given up on doing mine, after the non use of the cardigans I made for Lilly. It made me feel despondant, that I had sat for hours making them, when they would have come in handy for new born babies in another country, that actually needed them.

My goodness Marilyn, where are we going for our holiday this time.
Notice I said we, coz it's been decided by Shelly and I, that we are definately coming this time. We have got ourselves a trunk big enough, to take most of the friendlies with us, if they want to come.
All we need is the place, date and time of departure, and we will be with you.

Rita I hope you are feeling a little better by tomorrow love.

Jean, are you having family visiting tomorrow. I hope so.

Have a lovely mothers day, to all us mums on the friendly thread.

Afternoon all,
Maddie, (what does Cath look like) I am definitely not tiny, lol. Size 18, White haired and wrinkly, bit of a funny shape!! I used to worry about it but don't anymore. From time to time I try to lose a bit of weight by cutting out cakes, crisps etc but rarely meet my goal. I am fairly active though, manual job and chasing dog and grandchildren about, and I walk for miles but think I'm destined to stay how I am.
Rita I hope you will soon feel a bit better, what a shame you cant go to your sons tomorrow. It would be nice for Ryan to go home for Mothers day.

Hello everyone.

I am taking the antibiotics but I didnt sleep well last night too much on my mind.. I have been having giddy attacks ,so I have tablets for that as well. jump and I will rattle.

My youngest son came this morning bringing me a box of Roses chocolates. for mothers day and a card .
he took my bin bag out for me and the recycle stuff and the food to the food bin. he sat here changing batteries in my Walkmans and then put four CD albums on one of them . so I have 8 albums now.on that.
he also repaired my camera. and my CD player. so I was pleased he came. I was suppose to go there for dnner tomorow but I am not well enough for that. He is going to take me out to dinner when I am well enough.

I need to hear music when I am in bed as my tinitus gets on my nerves..
my daughter and my other son Mike both sent me a card with money in to buy myself something,

My Ryan is now in St Thomas hospital in London he has had two scans and one MRI they want to do more tests on Monday and Tuesday to see why this is all happening. but they might let him out today till monday morning.so he can be home for mothering sunday. His Mum is with him but the other two are at home with their Dad,

my Great Grandson born Feb 22nd has now got a name Jack they could not deceided but bothed liked that name.

Marilyn are you off again.? your have to borrow Jeans Varda ? I thought Pete was due for his gallbladder operation after you came back from the states. what happened ?

Good Afternoon All.

Been to the local shops, bedlam.

Marilyn, i think I saw the cargo pants. I even tried a pair on until I realised I had a pair very similar at home. Doh.

We have two very teeny tinies amongs us, Pauline and Mo. That must be fab, I remember when I was tiny many long years ago. I dont know what Cath and Pat look like, have we had their photos?

Hope Rita is sorted now. What a palarvar. Talk about the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing. Shameful.

Gonna cook me lump of beef tonight, gotta go to work for a couple of hours tomorrow. So that will be ready for me when I get home. Goodo.

Hope Stevies toothpegs are back in position. And he is flashing us again - with his smile.

The lovely Neil is on our tv's next week ladies. Make sure you have a cool drink by your chair, to spray water on yourself when he comes astriding through the heather.

Liz, I went to Poundland this morning, thanks for the recommendation. They only had one scarf hanging up, waiting for new stock to come in. So I can pop in regularly to see what they have.

Big waves to everyone else, keep well.

Yep, I echo Liz and Marilyn.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL, TOMORROW.

See you later.

Love to all for Mother's Day

Motowngal, Poundland had some nice thin cotton scarves in several colours, just right for something to brighten up a dark outfit or ward of breezes

I got a fabulous one last summer, which I always get complimented on when I wear it.

My son broke a mirror he had borrowed off me, a lovely 1930's one with the toothbrush holder and mug holder fixed on in chrome. He was upset cos it made such a mess, glass everywhere and it cut his new carpet, and I am upset cos it was given to me by an old friend when she ripped out a 1930's bathroom when doing up a house she bought, and I hoped to put in my bathroom when I finally get back to my house. Daren't even mention the seven years bad luck, son is fed up enough with problems at his job and no money to spare so that would finish him off if he thought another 7 years of rotten luck was his future.

He has a new girlfriend, just 23 and wouldn't you know it, she has a little boy of 2, it's like history repeating itself from his previous longterm girlfriend. He has avoided meeting the little one for the mo as he wants to be sure about how he feels about the girl before getting more involved.
How I wish he could meet a girl who is more established and no ties.

Morning all,
Stephen you are funny, its good to start the day with a laugh.
Linda that spa day sounds like it will be lovely, nice to be pampered.
Our 6 year old grandaughter slept over last night and has requested a cooked breakfast so I'd better get on with it.
Rita I do hope you have had a peaceful night and the medication will get to work quickly.
(((((hugs))))) for all,

Morning Stephen and all others who join in later
Oat meal for me this morning.
The curry was really good last night. Neighbours took us along to their golf club. So I met lots of new people, lots of talking. The event was for charity for the Army Benoevolant Fund.

Nearly finished the lastest baby cardigan.

Must get back to doing some research, but off to the DIY this morning for supplies and then out to our eldest daughters for dinner tonight, early Mothering Sunday celebration I think.
The family are treating me to a spa day next weekend with a massage included.

Well off to town to pay some bills this morning

Be back later

Oh Rita, they made a bit of a pigs ear sorting out your meds, hopefully you've got what you need now and start to feel better.

Na na Maddie you missed lol
have you tried those long chiffon scarves, I've seen a lot of those, all pretty patterns and colours.
so it's all round to yours on Sunday, I love beef, is there yorkshires too, yummy.

Today I took a pair of jeans my son had bought, (well I paid for them) back to Mat***n he decided he didn't like them cos they had button fly instead of a zip and exchanged them for a blouse for me,

Hope you're feeling better in the morning Cath

Afternoon ladies, (bit sexist, but no lads here yet).
Rita I feel for you, how exasperating. Its enough to raise your blood pressure as well.
Mo and Rita I have to agree about the price of food shopping, horrendous.
We have none of the big uk supermarkets here (apart from Wa*&%rose, which only opened 2 weeks ago ) and prices are awful. Costs me a fortune to feed my tribe!! The coffee I drink has just gone up from £5.40 to £6.30 a jar, I don't know how they justify a rise like that.
Pat I've just bought some books to take with me on holiday as I can be sure of a bit of peace while i'm there.
Maddie do you have room for an extra for dinner, lol.

We are just getting in fish and chips later as we have to go out shortly to see a piece of Guernsey Granite we are taking to Ireland for my late father in laws headstone, we are having it cut down to size here and mother in law has someone in Ireland who will engrave it for us.
Back later, hopefully.

Oh Rita, what can I say. You have been pushed from pillar to post, and it's even worse because you are not well.
I hope you start to feel better soon, now that you have eventually got your medication.

Linda, I know what you mean about the prices rising. We went to get out big weekly shop this morning, and it has gone up by at least five pounds on last week. And yet we bought more or less the same things.
Stupid things like the kitchen roll, had gone up by fifteen pence, and thats just the basics brand.
Enjoy your curry tonight.

I'm on my way to Maddies for my dinner, she's got trifle for afters, yummy.
I don't mind not having the dinner, but the dessert will go down a treat.

How many books did you get Pat. I hope you have enough to last you through the whole period.
