Evening all. Pauline thanks for the photos, its nice to put a face to the names. I will send one of me but may be after I get back. The headstone is a fair old weight but as OH pointed out isn't any heavier than 2 passengers. We have an 8 seater and only 4 of us travelling so should be ok. Rita I'm glad your chest is getting better, shame about your ears though. I hope Mikes next op is a success and he can recover quickly and have a better quality of life. Off up my tree for a while before Waking the Dead. (((((hugs))))) for all,
Cath xx

I have been trying to cheer my son Mike who had the cancer operation up. (I need cheering up myself my chest infection is getting better but my ears are getting worse ) he is so down he said he feel as though life has passed him by. he has to go everyday to get his wound cleaned it is still not right but Thursday he has an appointment with the consultant as they are going to do an operaiton on his other kidney the renal gland had a nodule on and they have to remove it. He is aloud to drive his car now. but he said he drove around for a while but went home as he felt so tired. so please postivite thought for Mike.
I have been reading up in Neil Oliver born in Ayr 1967. I knew he was a Scottish Broadcaster but did not know he wrote books as well. His wifes name is Trudy the same as my Grandsons wife. and he has three children Evie. Archie and Teddy. He tells how he works from an office at Home he can see Sterling Castle from his office. His two Grandfathers fought in the first world war. His Mums father fought at Gallipoli and was shot by friendly fire. His fathers father fought at the Somme.

Rita, don't worry about your hair, just do what the rest of us do and put a colour on it.
It's very dark and dull here......... freezing cold as well.
Mo, I knew you would get loads of prezzies............ still waiting to see what Shelly got off her 13 year old!!
Marilyn, I was thinking the same thing about the headstone, I can imagine Cath pushing it in a wheelbarrow.
Going to rake the photos out for Cath.

morning it is nice outside the sun is out and it is shining on the daffs in the front lawn. outside my bedroom window the bluebells have started to open the dark green of the leaves and the blue of the bells look like a painting.
I have taken my washing into the laundryroom this morning. I made up my mind to do the washing. as I need to get out into the fresh air and sunshine while we still have it.
did anyone watch Country File last night. I noticed the people in that. going up tree's and putting nesting boxes up leaned the ladder up the tree trunk but no one held the ladder while they went up and down. The Health and Safety people told our window clearners off for doing that and they now use hoses to clean the windows. not as good as a good leatherwash rub and dry

Morning friendlies, a gorgeous sunny start to the day here. Jean good to hear from you, how is Scarlett. I would love to be able to take to the roads and wander alone with my thoughts, hope you enjoyed it. No work today so will probably sort out my packing for next week and catch up with the ironing. We have the headstone cut to size and ready to go, must be the most unusual item we've ever had to pack for a holiday. Hope you all have a good day,
Cath xx

I wish I could go and get my hair done I look a mess and my hair has gone grey while I have been ill. I looked in the mirror this afternoon and nearly had a fit wait till my sister sees it. she has been on about how my hair has stayed black and hers has gone grey she is six years younger than me.
so no more photo's of me. I have aged ten years lol.
I am putting off going to bed as long as possible. I bet I know who is in bed and reading.
good night all. see you tomorrow.

It's true what they say Pat, "theres no place like home". It's oh so nice to go travelling, but so much nicer to get home. That sounds like a good theme for a song. LOL

Good to see you back Pat. It sounds like it was a lovely peaceful break away.
It sounds like we have been spoilt rotten. I just hope that Shelly's family remembered this year. She does so much for all of them.

Hi Everyone,
My lot has just gone ...Pewwhhh.
I had a Jamie Oliver cook book from my eldest and 4 cards and the most beautiful bouquet of flowers from my youngest son with a vase.......looks lovely .
I cooked a lamb roast dinner and my grand kids said to their mum & dad why don't you cook like grandma does ..LOL...... I had to laugh as this particular son is a fabulous cook that you wouldn't get any better than in a restaurant.
So here we are getting things back to normal after the storm ..
Hope you all had a great day & lots of goodies.
Shelly I'm dying to know what the boys bought you if any .? ..LOL

Hello all, I have had a lovely day and been really spoilt. Flowers from OH, flowers and a new watch from eldest daughter, c.d from middle daughter, money from son and a hamper full of all my favourite chocolate goodies from my youngest daughter and they all chipped in to take me out for lunch. I hope everyone else has had a great day too. Pauline glad you're ok and I would love to see the photos, will pm you. Will send a photo of me when I know how, as we're off on holiday soon there might even be an up to date one. Rita I'm pleased Ryan was able to spend mothers day at home. Stephen what a lovely poem, brought a tear to my eye. Marilyn that coat would have had me screaming!!! Maddie I love yorkshire puddings, bigger the better, lol. Mo you did well for gifts, its nice to feel appreciated. Waking the dead tonight, one of few programmes I watch so might not get back on

Sitting here waiting for the trifle to arrive Maddie, even if it makes a mess in the cyber hatch, I will lick it all up. Sorry I missed the main meal, but my daughter took me to Bingo this afternoon, and even though we didn't win, it was a most enjoyable time.
I hope that all our mums on here have had a wonderful day.
My children went overboard again, the same as every other year. I have flowers all over the house, and chocolates coming out of my ears. One of my daughter treated me to a box of toiletries from the Body Shop. Who's a lucky girl then, yes me. But to be honest with you, the card I receive means more to me than anything else.
