Tea or Coffee

Porridge or Cereals, Poached Eggs, Toast. (Nice light breakfast)

Looks like the Sun is coming out to play again today. Magic.

Working at home today, loads of odd jobs to do around the property. A new fence is needed at one stretch, so I will make a start to that.

Rita, Your Stepmother, Rosie, sound just like my Mum. She was just around 5ft. Could turn her hand to anything. We, big strapping lads, never ever spoke back to her. For two reasons, 1. out of respect for her and
2. she would probably have thumped us if we did.

Hope all is well with the 'Friendly' Team.

We haven't had an outing for ages........any suggestions ?

Have a good day ya all !

Maddie,

I love boats and water.

I look on my wee yacht like a lovely woman.

She has a nice shape, nicely rounded bottom,
Gives me loads of pleasure.
AND
Takes all my money to keep her in good shape. ROFL

Fishing on a river would do my head in, like you I would probably sit and feed the rats just to pass the time.
Still it does give a lot of pleasure to loads of folk. Each to their own eh !

Mo,
I came from a large family, 8 Lads, 4 Lassies. And believe it or not none of us were at all interested in football. We were all swimmers.
I didn't even know there was a football cup match on.

Watched the programme on Capt. Scotts Hut in the Antarctic and how they are preserving it and the contents. Very interesting.

Time for supper.

Talking to oneself is the first sign of madness, oooooh who said that.

I am always talking to myself, as no one else listens to me. Especially in this house. LOL

Hi everyone, how is everybody this fine day. Hasn't it been a glorious one at that.

Stephen, I have been told that Motherwell won the football yesterday. My son has a beautiful photograph of my grandaughter, wrapped in her G.Grandfathers Motherwell scarf.

Shelly I nearly did run but I needed the dressing gown. I should have put a conker in the pocket Lol.
I took it out of the wardrobe this morning and checked it over to see if a spider was still in it. but did not see any so I have it on a coat hanger on the wardrobe door in the small bedroom. just incase.

Good luck fixing up your units I could not do anything like that. my stepmother in Law Rosie who was scottish could do anything hang wall paper use a saw and a drill paint. carpentry, and recover chairs and ironing boards I say ironing boards as she did mine for me. and it is still in use.

I have seen her cememt paths and brick lay. how about that for a little lady about 5.2 in height.

My sister and I worked on the tree, we started with Grandfathers first Devon and he had many brothers and sisters so we did that , it led to other things then when I did Great Grandmothers I was sent a book on The Ackland family of Devonshire written by Lady Ackland. I picked up my family in parts of that.

Then I found the family had started from Quakers. one of the society wrote to me a lovely letter and sent me a list of their register and it contained the names, dates of birth , Maririages and deaths of the Ackland family. I found many of the Quakers came into the family through marriages.
Margaret Lewis who runs the Lace Museum in Hontion is related to me twice her great Aunt married my Great Uncle and another memeber of her family married one of mine, both names are listed in the Quaker lists so the family must have gone a long way back.
Margaret is an Archivist so we mail each other. her when she wants information she has not found ?me when I need info. we spent a week with her a few years back.

Maddie
Our family were religious they have names like Issac. Francis. Abraham. Emanuel Mary John Absalom Hepzibah Noah. as soon as one of these names come up Margaret asks is this one of yours ?we have 8 or more vicars in the family tree. my four times Great Grandfather was a vicar at the Farway Parish church in Devon.

Mums family came from Scotland so we have many scottish names .as well.

Last night I didnt go to bed till 11.30 lay listening to Magic radio then got up to go to the loo I had to take my dressing gown out of the wardrobe to find one big spider clinging to the sleeve I screamed rushed out to the fron door opened it and shook the dressing gown like mad. I didnt see if fall but came in and realised anyone looking out of their bedroom window would have had a shock seeing me standing then in my short nighie.

I giggled about it as I got back into bed.,

Rita,

What a great Family History you have uncovered. You must have spent many. many hours researching.

A great legacy to pass on to your own family.

I have still a lot to do on my own tree, double checking the validity of the information takes ages.

My dear lady I have managed to trace back via the Spanish Armada sailors that landed in Ireland to a Princess Navara of Spain. Yep ! She is of Royal Blood. Treats me like a servant. ROFL

I didnt know that about the Leper colony my fathers fathers family orignated from Devon Hontion district I can go back 8 or more generations back to 1600 . I never came across that . Great Grandmothers family were Quakers from Ufculme first one I found was 1680 they came from Hemlock. They were part of The Society of Friends from East Devonshire. many are buried in a place called Spiceland a Quaker burial ground I have the offical list of births marriages and deaths.
for the Ackland family.and other in that Quaker society.

When I lived in Ealing we went to the smallest church in Perivale St Marys it held about 20/30 people and they had long windows dotted about with closed parts these were were the Lepers worshipped they are called them Leper windows.
My daughter was married in that little church in 1971 and many of the guests had to stand outside to listen to the service. I think she was the last person to get married there ?

Accidents !

When I fell off the roof, I staggered into the house where my family were sitting watching telly.

'Did you not think of coming to help me?' Says I.

'We saw you going passed the window and thought you were joking' was the reply

Serves me right for being a practical joker at times.

Time for tea.

Hello everyone

Happy Birthday Linda, have a lovely evening, hope hubby is feeling better.

thanks for the piece of birthday cake, yummy

It's my big sister's birthday today too, and my OH's tomorrow. I'm making a cake for him, I usually buy one from the supermarket but I decided to make one this time, just a Victoria sponge with icing on top and a few candles, I can't make a cake big enough to put all the candles on lol

My OH went back to doc's yesterday as he's still feeling under the weather, he finished his course of antibioctics for his chest infection but still feels tired all the time, doc sent him to hospital for blood tests and to make an appointment for xray for kidney stones, he had them about 3 years ago and had them blasted but doc thinks he's got more.

what a lovely daughter you have Rita, sorting out a holiday for you all, someting to look forward to.
