Rita Report 5 Aug 2011 14:14

I didnt go into town this morning I went and collected my Chat and Take a break books then strolled into the charity shop. as the mangeress introduced me to her young daughter.
I brought a couple of books while there Anna Jacobs one of my favorite authors.. I got speaking to a women there as she said Anna was one of her favourtie authors as well..
She told me she writes for a living. books on Historical Mysteries. I told her my niece is an author and she went under two names as sometimes when she writes for magazines they dont print the same name of the auhor twice so she uses my Great Great Grandmothers name and her married name.
My friend called in to see me and she said that Sainsburys didnt seem t have altered prices up like Waitrose.
Pauline I had to laugh at your mother and a zimmer frame
I have a friend who lives in Edgware and she uses one indoors but drives one of those mobile motors when she goes out

I took some books up to an elderly friend not far from my flat as she isnt able to get out only up to the laundryroom and back.she uses a zimmer frame when I ring her bell she calls out to me please wait I am coming but cannot move very fast.I always open the letter box and tell her to take her time I am not going anywhere. today she came along not with her ximmer frame but with a trolly table on wheels. she is in her late 80.s

Marilyn I can imagine what Pete would have said when I told my son he said BT can control the rubbish calls in England but not from over seas he said just put the phone down or dont answer it until the answer phone clicks in and then if it is someone I know answer it striaght away.

Afternoon all.

Maddie, I'm having problems with the whole board - not just this thread. When I try to read any of the threads I get the 'Error' message. Most of the time I just give up and don't bother.

Mo, did you have to make many donations then? Just as well I wasn't playing, don't think I could hit the board.

Rita, my mother didn't know how to use a zimmer frame either. When she was very ill and unable to walk properly she was given a zimmer frame. She hadn't a clue how to use it............. she lifted it off the ground a bit and tried walking with it in front of her like a metal detector. It still makes me laugh just thinking about it.

Marilyn, I thought you asked Stephen if you could go with him when he said he was going on his boat............. can't be bothered to go back through the thread and look.

Shelly, I hate it when they change things around in the supermarket, takes twice as long to do the shopping.

Mo in Kent Report 4 Aug 2011 19:55

Oh my god, whats going on with this site. When I first logged into here, I got messages for someone called Peter, and when I checked through the rest, they were all for people I have never heard of before.
No wonder people are not getting answers to their requests to view others trees, if this has been going on for some time.

Well what a night I had last night, soooo funny. I felt quite a slim Jim, amongst all the fifteen stone plus men.
In my singles I had to play a man who was scoring nothing but 180's through the game, till he got down to a finish, when my biggest score was only sixties, so no contest, he beat me hands down.lol
We were running a charity money raising event at the same time, to get more money for the Kent Air Ambulance. Anyone who scored below 26, had to make a donation. The men are going to continue with this, all through their dart season, in the hopes of raising some money for a good cause.
Last season they raised £550.00, but this season they are starting raising funds earlier, in the hope of getting more money.

Foggy, nice to meet you if you know what I mean :-)
Agatha sorry you're leaving us. :-(
Love n (((((hugs))))) for the rest of you. :-D

The sun has just come out for the first time today. I woke last night and it was pouring down and didn't stop until lunchtime.
Been a bit down for the last few days but don't really know why. Trying to cheer myself up by thinking about my holiday. Not too long now. :-D :-D
Youngest granddaughter made me laugh today though. I must ressurect my 'out of the mouths of babes thread' and add it.
Hope all are well and Stephen is enjoying himself.

Rita, did you nick George's zimmer frame?

She'll be after your candle next, George.

Yvonne, we've had rain most of the day as well, got soaked a couple of times.

Marilyn must have thought of something to do because she didn't come back.

Hope Jean's feeling a bit better now. 0000000000000000000000000000000000000

Afternoon all,

What a lovely day it has turned out after the rain this morning, nice warm sunshine now.

Got my haircut today, really needed it, not so scruffy now...lolol.

Rita, the Chelsea lady is old Foggs friend, a really lovely kind woman, I know I call her the Sloane ranger...lol, thats because she talks like one.
I see you have relations in Chelsea, Willesden, Kilburn and Hackney.
I know those places well, I come from Paddington, next to Kilburn and Willesden.
Old Foggs lived in Chelsea before he came to live in Winchester.

GRMarilyn, I would have gone to cheer MO, but she is from Kent, miles away...lol.

Pauline, lol, no didn't go to the pub with my slippers on...lolol

Rita, no zimmer pub crawl...lol. have been trying to cut down going to the pub, becoming expensive now.

Hello Yvonne.

Been raining most of the day but at least it's a little cooler.

Rita I get a lot of calls about debt and loans, they are recorded. If I get any calls with a foriegn voice I say no thank you and put the phone down. You have to be so careful cos some times they are scams.

Agatha don't go away for too long

Hello Sue, nice of you to pop in :-D

You had fun and games then Pauline , it does give you a start when one of the trains whizzes by you and you dont expect it.

I thought Marilyn Knew our Stephen has gone sailing for three weeks. little devil he is.

George what did you do a pub zimm frame crawl. LOL

I am sick to death of getting phone calls from Indians. I am getting so many these days half of them dont speak english and it is hard to understand what they are saying the others always seem to have people in the back ground making a hell of a noise. I had one ten minutes ago he was chatting away. I said speak english please I am not understanding a wrod you are saying. your phone keeps breaking down. then I hear in the back ground lots of voices I think he must have been in a room and they were all making phone calls. I said to him just before I hung up the phone. "where are you phoing from MARS "?
My son said they get paid for calling people even if they dont get any
buiness out of it.

I forgot to tell you Marilyn........... about the 2 people I met yesterday............ Maz lives about 25 miles away from me and came here on the bus, YG lives about 80 miles away and needed to get 2 trains. We nearly got sucked under an express train as it went whizzing through the station because we didn't realize we were standing too near to the track.
