Sounds like your John was quite athletic Rita, were you the same or did you prefer to watch sport?
Mo, I'm worn out after all the walking I've done the last couple of weeks............ I'm probably a couple of inches shorter now because I've worn my legs away.
I LOL about the anniversary celebration you went to, I think I would have thought the same as you about the church.
I felt sorry for Marilyn's dad getting upset but I can understand his wife being worried about him.
Are we going to send a search party out for Stephen?

I got woken up during the night by someone stomping up the stairs so I'm feeling a bit tired lol
Welcome back Pauline, hope you had some good days out.
<3 to Jean
My younger sister and her 2 girls came to visit yesterday, we all went out for lunch at a pub nearby, they do a nice Sunday dinner, then back to mine for a cuppa and a gossip, they went home about 7pm.
Got some washing out this morning, sheets and towels, looks like rain tomorrow so I got them done.
Marilyn Hope your dad is feeling better today after his uipset, it must be so hard to want to be independent and do things for himself, bless him.

Welcome back Pualine we have missed you. Marilyn that upset me about your Dad poor old fella he must be feeling low after the life he has lead and comes to this. I can understand how your stepmum worried about him and it is true he could have fallen and not been found for a few hours.but I do feel sorry for him, xxx for your Dad.
It was shock about Deanna it appear they didnt know she had cancer they found she had it on both her lungs and liver. how could they have missed that ?I had a few PM from Dutch keeping me informed . but to be honest it is a blessing she is no longer suffering. her family must be devastated.
Jean go and have a good rest darling. it must take it out of you.
That Shelly should have camped in her sons tent saved her walking up the stairs ROL;
Maddie my husband was in the 2nd bat.London Regiment of The Royal Fusilers he was a Lance Corporal. he was a snipper. I have the list of his rifle course and all his army books he went in 1944 and came out July 1948. his reference form the army say his Military conduct was excellent and he played football for his regiment and boxing. I have cups and Medals for his boxing and long jump and diving while he was in the arny.

Oooh loooky loooky, our Pauline is back with us. Hello lovely lady, did you enjoy your days out, and did you go anywhere exciting.?
Linda, I was shocked when I logged on, to read that Deanna had passed away, such a lovely lady, and a loss to all who knew and loved her.
Ahhh Marilyn, bless your dad, he can't do right for being wrong can he. But I can understand your step mothers concern though.
Jean is back from her treatment, and is feeling pretty yucky, so she has gone for a rest. But god willing she will be back fighting her corner this time tomorrow, only to have to go back for more chemo the next day. Keep your chin up Jeni, and know we are here fighting with you.
I see Shelly was being rather naughty at 03.36 this morning, stomping up the stairs like that, tut ,tut, she would moan at the kids for doing that.
I wonder if George and Foggy have gone out painting the town red today.

Morning All,
Hi Pauline soooooo gooooood to seeeeeeee yooooooo BACK ! :-D
Hope you have enjoyed your hols .
Mo....glad you cleared that wedding saga up ! :-S
Linda.... I had eight for dinner last night, and boy am I glad I got a dish washer.and a floor washer ..PETE !! My Dad got told off by his wife for walking in the garden without her while she was out having her hair done, mind you he is frail now and has a walking stick......next thing I knew he was crying !! oh dear I said to my step mother he only wanted to see the bushes you were complaining about , after the tear drops were falling out came his hanky to wipe them... Poor dad he is only 96yrs ,she has his welfare to worry about ,he could have fallen over and no one would have seen him as it was the back garden. After a few whiskey's he was back to his old self...
Maddie never mind..... my friend is in the same position as you as to wait another 2yrs....she wants her bus pass as her hubby has his.
Jean good luck for today

Morning All Bright so far this morning I have ironing and research on the plans for today so far.
Hubby cleared up last night after our guests had left, but he went to work at 5:00 this morning so I have the dishwasher to empty. Not bad after a meal for 6 though. Have it all again this weekend as my brothers are coming.
So sad to read of the two deaths this morning , Brenda's husband and Deanna. I have added my condolences.
Have a nice day everyone
Thinking of Jean and hope it is not as bad as before

Morning everyone
It was sad to read of Deanna dying, but at least she is not suffering.
Cath what part of Somerset are your Dads side. there is a Somset Family History Society, I use to belong to it. but dropped out when I had finished my Somerset connections, but they do search for you. it does not cost much they did some for me a NAME search. I can look in some of my back magazines for you, and see if I can find anything. I have about four years back.If you tell me the name one of your might have cropped up.
The sun is out at the moment although we have been advised rain later. I have just got my washing together as I and down for 9 o'clock to do my washing in our laundroom
Good luck for today Jean my love.

Sue. Jean you left out Pauline is not away they go out for the day to different places. but I thought Stephen was due back this week ? The pensions is a big fast to people working later in life my son pay a lot of money into a pension fund at his work and lost half of it when the company they were with got into difficulties..he is 54 now My sister did the same ploughed some of her teachers pension into a company and lost alot of money. she said she should have brought premium bonds if you didnt win anything you still got the money you brought the bonds with back
I got a widows pension when my husband died in 1989 I had worked from 14 to 21 but only paid a small sum when I got married. so didnt have enough stamps for a full pension. but by having the widows pension made up for it. they did offer me a normal Old age pension but I left it as a widows pension. if I had married inm the time I would have lost that. My husband being self employed paid two lots of stamps and didnt live to get a pension he died at 61 he had paid stamps all his life I think the army paid them when he was in the Royal Fusilers.. there must be thousands like him paid in and got nothing because they died. I wonder if that went to the goverment . ? Heir Hunters if they dont find the heirs the government get that money.when people have not made a will,.

Maddie, I had the same problem,as far as my pension was concerned. I was told if I cared to pay a one of contribution off approx £ 3,500, I would be entitled to a minimum pension of, at the time about £40.00 a week. There was no way we could afford to pay it, so when I retired my payment was £4.00 a week. I had to wait till Roly retired, before they raised my pension up to just over £60.00 . Not a lot to live on is it, but it's better than nothing I suppose. I just get sooo angry, when people who have worked for most off their lives, (even if it was menial work like field work, where one doesn't pay N.Insurance stamps) like I did for years, has to suffer later in life, because nothing was explained to them earlier in life. Lets be honest, when we were young, we never ever thought about getting old, and having to manage on a pension. I just don't envy the youngsters of today, what have they got to look forward to.

Hi everyone. Right let me try and clear up the escapades of the 25th anniversary celebration. On the invitation, it said that they would be having it at the local R.C church, but forgot to put that it was being held in the church hall, at the back of the building. The wedding ceremony, we nearly gatecrashed, was for complete strangers. Outside of the church, was two lovely wedding cars, all with ribblons on. We said to each other, that our friends would not have gone to the expence of hiring cars like that, to celebrate their 25th, and they would not have been able to afford them anyway. So we decided that as the ceremony had started in the church, we would just wait outside, and decided to walk to the back of the church, that was when we saw some of our other old friends walking into the church hall. oh! oh!, how stupid were we, but thank goodness we didn't go into the church, and sit through two complete strangers, getting married. And as for the curly sandwiches, well what can I say about them lol! no need for any explanation for not eating them is there surely. And our meal out was much nicer.
It's been a really warm day here. The thermostat in the car was reading 29. The washing soon dried, so I am really sorry Linda, if you had put your washing down the cyber hatch, I could have got it dried for you. Not that I would have ironed it though, sorry about that.

Marilyn The plans are not as they were suppose to be. two small windows and they installed one hugh window like a double patio door. they put a window at the side when no window shoud be there. according to the plans? . they have also put a large window in one of the back rooms and looks like they are going to add a balcony a complaint has been given to the planning department but no come back as yet. the plans were for the attic extension but they added an extension down stairs as well . My daughter got the plans up on her PC and they are clear what they were gvien planning permission for,..all these were not listed. her next door neighbour is complaing as well.
George you have got younger according to your new photo you little devil you.
I have just put my dinner on I eat about 1. to 2 oclock. I made an apple and blackberry pie only a very small one.for dessert.

I've been going through the filing cabinet from my childminding. It was too heavy for me to move with all the rubbish in it. I've put loads of paperwork into the recycling after removing all the names and addresses and shredded them too. Some good out of today as the recycling goes tomorrow.
I've sorted the dining room and layed the table. Just off to prepare the veg as there are 6 for dinner tonight. Hubby is at work.
See you all later Hope your weather is better than mine. Marilyn please leave some sunshine for September. I need an Indian Summer
