did I hear right Linda a BBQ ? my fingers are crossed for you that the weather will be kind. it is dry here at the moment but a bit iffy. The people for the Nottinghill Carnival will be holding their breath hoping for good weather
My sister is waiting news fro NY city and Washing DC as she has friends and in laws and a son there but I am hoping Martin managed to get away to Maylsia where he was due to go on busniness. they certainly are having it rough out there. I know people laugh but I still think it is todo with the rockets that have been sent up for the past years.

Shelly if I lived near you I would tie you up and take you to the doctors.there is nothing to fear in injections better that than a death
scentence. pleased think about it and go and get your smear test done.

Morning all
"whispers very quietly" looks like a better day today, so far. Brighter.
I certainly hope so as my 2 brothers, wives and 4 teenagers are coming this afternoon.
So we will be busy preparing a meal for 10 for this evening.
BBQ is the main meat and veg and prawn cocktail to start with 3 different puddings for choice. Hubby made a Jamie Oliver marinade for a boned leg of lamb, but I also have some sausages and burgers for the youngsters.

Guess this is the thyroid club as you might remember my thyroid is underactive too.
Rita I take 150mcg a day and still can't shift the weight !!

I went for a nice walk along the Queen Annes Ride in Windsor this afternoon with my daughter , husband and a lurcher dog. The weather was kind to us. Not too much rain today. Hubby even got the grass cut.

George I have never been to the Nottinghill Carnival my Granddaughters go every year.
I bet your enjoy that holiday after the weather we have been having a nice tan to thoses arms and Legs

Marilyn they were saying on TV that the hurrican is blowing itself down as it heads for New York how long will you be away ? George is off on 7th September so am I. anyone else going about that time ?

Shelly I have under active thyorids and it puts weight on you. if you have over active you lose weight. I have to have 100 mg tablets a day. if I dont take them I feel weak and have black outs at time
you should take yourself off to the Doctors or go to a Well Womens clinic.


Hi Foggy doing anything speical over the Bank Holiday ?If I had been in Norfolk I would have gone off to a boot sale they have lots of them up there I use to buy my books from, them,.

Shelly...Oh my goodness how do I explain Thyroid to YOU of all people ...LOL

Its a gland round the neck that gives your body energy and produces Hormones....now if your tired you may not be producing enough hormones....so Tablets will make up for it and make you feel alive ...LOL.
You can have over Active or under Active thyroid ....
I'm under active and need tablets to boost my energy ...Simple !!

Now get down to the Doc's Monday morning sharp .

Afternoon everyone we had heavy rain this afternoon we have big blsck clouds overhead and a wind that is bending the trees it came all of a sudden.I had to put a caridgan on as it got chilly.

My sister late husbands friend was over from New York this week he took her out to dinner and then they went touring London till it start to rain so they ended up in the Tate Gallery He went home on Thursday she is waiting to here how things are. in New York,.


I had my gas and electric bill in this morning (isnt that exciting ?) I pay monthly and they told me I owed them £21 for my Electric but they owed me £121.79 Gas rebate and was paying it into my bank. so that was a nice suprise. could do with more of those.

I dont think the Nottinghill Carnival will be crowed tomorrow if the weather is stormy and windy. shame all that hard work they have getting ready and making the clothes for it every year. I understand they are to finish early due to trouble makers which are expected.

Shelly....You need to see a doctor !! not that you are ill but you may have Thyroid problems I did ...I was putting on weight and not eating that much, its a simple blood test ....now be a good brave girl and go see your doctor :-D

Cath ...funny you should mention about that 12year old giving birth , I found one last week that got married at 14years and had a baby 7mths before the marriage :-S

Just a thought ....Oh dear I will be in New York a week on Tuesday I keep looking at that Hurricane Irene gosh I hope its been & gone ,well it should have been ,but wonders what devastation it leaves behind .

I had to laugh at your words Linda as I had been speaking to a Polish lady yesterday and we were disgussing the way we Brits greet each other and what we say.? I said I usualy ask how their family is and the next sub ject our weather.

Cath I found it very chilly when I got up this morning. I went to make a cup of tea at 6.30 and took it back to bed along with a book as it was too early to get up. and I had to put a thicker dressing gown on. although the sky is blue but I can see lots of clouds so I dont hold out too much hope we will have a good day.

I am not going anywhere so it will not affect me.
