Morning All !
Pat, your an early bird eh :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) 'Jackie' I remember a niece used to read that magazine. Changing the words at Mass ! Are they going back to Latin ? ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Busy day ahead.......lots of wee things I want to get done......doing them now before life events take over and they get left undone.
A wee laugh for today..........
The Senility Prayer.
God grant me the Senility to forget the people I never liked,
The good fortune to meet the ones I do,
And the eyesight to know the difference.
Have a good day ya all !
Keep safe , keep happy , keep smiling :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
RIP, John McAleese.

Yo! I'm up early. :-) Busy day ahead. I've got a day thing at a near by school about the "mass". From tomorrow the words are being changed- not a lot but enough. Then int he evening I've got a concert called the "jackie" generation concert. basically 70's music. Jackie was THE teenage magazine in the 70's.
Catch you all later. Have a nice day! <3

Evening all Sorry I'm so late but it's been one of those days. Really nice here today. Got more washing dry, needs ironing tomorrow. My daughter came with the dog and we took him for a walk. Then youngest came to borrow our cases for a holiday tomorrow. They stayed longer than I thought. Then eldest stayed til her partner was ready to be picked up after a works meeting/ social get together. On top of that Hubby has come home early with a gippy tummy, feeling very sorry for himself. And I've just had a marathon phone call, which flashed up "unavailable" so I nearly ignored it !!! But it was my Uncle from America. So good job I answered him.
Well soon be off to bed Have a good weekend everyone

Maddie I am making the vodka this weekend :-D I am going to keep it for Christmas by which time it shoul be fairly potent ;-) ;-) ;-) I would love to get together with the friendly gang and share a bottle or two. All you need are 500grams blackberries, 200grams sugar and 700 ml Vodka. Freeze the blackberries for at least 8 hours. Add the sugar and frozen berries to a wide necked bottle or jar that will take a litre of liquid. Fill up with vodka and shake daily for 2 weeks, then weekly for at least another 4 weeks. Strain, pressing berries through sieve and filter the liquid. Then sit back and enjoy. Going to read now, Night all, sweet dreams,
Cath xx

you little devil Pat storing up bottles for christmas and new year.
Maddie dont think I am safe going on these buses lately everytime I go on them something happens. The girl today must have been about 18 she could not have been older, ? I use to love going blackberrying when I lived in Norfolk I also collected wild strawberries and Sloes, when I go across to the shops I have to go past a small wood and there are lots of bushes with blackberries on but they are so small. not nice and juicey like I had before.so I dont pick those.
I squirt lemon juice around my toilet pan and leave it for a little while then use the brush to get rid of the lime stains.
Just think Marilyn has been away a week in two days time.

Evening friendlies. What a beautiful day here. OH and I have been out picking blackberries since 5.30 and got 6 and a half pounds :-) all washed, bagged and in the freezer now. Have a few new blackberry recipes to try out as well as the traditional ones like blackberry pie, crumble, sponge and dumplings. A friend has also given me a recipe for blackberry vodka ;-) I am picking apples on monday in a friends garden so we will definitely be sorted out for pies etc. Rita my youngest daughter used to do Irish dancing until a knee injury forced her to stop. She loved it and still enjoys watching it. I think she caught the bug from me, I loved Lord of the Dance and was lucky enough to go and see it at Wembley in 1997, it was the best live show I've ever seen and still sends a shiver down my spine years later. I might disappear into the branches of my tree tonight as I had a whiff of some scandal yesterday and am now intrigued to discover more. I am now researching the Amor family from Pewsey in Wiltshire but can't change the details in my account. Jean I hope you are not feeling awful from your treatment and are taking it easy. <3 <3 to all,
Cath xx

Evening all.
Rita, good to have clean pipes...LOL :-D :-D The washing soda is very good, especially if used regularly.
Hope everyone has had a brilliant day with this nice warm sunshine. I went to the pub yesterday evening, was only going to have a couple, well what a small world we live in. I met an old sparing partner from when I used to box, must have been mid to late 60s. He is on holiday near here, taking in Winchester, Salisbury, he was in the village where I live taking photos of all the thatched houses..lol. An evening of reminiscing..LOL pity old Foggs missed him as he used to spar with him as well, still at least I gave him the old boys number to get in contact over the weekend.
Pauline, good you have sorted out your drains. LOLOL Agatha, I don't think spiders live down drains...LOL.
George :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hi everyone hope you all had a good day. we had extra special weather but will it last ? I dont think so. forcaste storms on sunday here.
Pat I love Irish Dancing it is so fast and the youngest are so set to win and do well.. I think many of the parents were pushing their children wanting them to win
.Pauline the soda Cystals do work well .my Mother use to use them down the loo as well she use to put them in a bucket and hot water on then pour down the toilet. we had an outside one then. I did the same when I got married and have carried on doing that all my life .you dont need a lot just an egg cupful does the trick, it deslolves the grease which cling to the pipes.
when I had my Bungalow in Norfolk we had drains than run in fours and the lady next door to me did hair dressing from home she used to use a thick gunk like stuff doing people hair and it use the block the drains in the garden so mine use to get the back log I had to have drain rod poople out once it cost me £100 for ten minutes work, when it happened again she got some people out who put something into the drain and it blew the stuff out except it blew all the muck onto my wall of the extension and I mean shxxt and cracked the drain so she claimed off her insurance,.
But my pipes were always clean, even the rod people said how clean they were to me.

Hi all, I've had company today so didn't get the chance to log on until now.
George, I couldn't get the waste trap off so I had to wait for my husband coming home. There wasn't much gunk in the trap and the outside drain looked clear so he had to take some of the pipe off behind the sink unit and put the hosepipe down there.
Anyway, he cleared it and managed to put everything back together without breaking anything............ to my amazement!!
Thank you everybody for all the helpful tips. I Googled Spirit of Salts and decided it might melt the pipes.... :-D :-D my God Maddie, that's powerful stuff.
Rita, I'm going to get some soda crystals to put down the plugholes once a week to help keep them clear.
Stephen, that's sad news about your friend, his family must be devastated.
Maddie, if you do come up here next year........ I can't pretend to make lovely cream teas like Marilyn does but I make an OK cup of coffee............ and I've always got wine in!!

Afternoon everyone
I went and told them at the paper shop they could cross me off the delivery list as I didnt like being blackmailed and have to order a newspaper to get my mags deleivered there were about 12 people waiting to be served and she was the only one on duty
I caught the bus into Town then it was so hot on the bus. I had a young women next to me in thr (OLD PEOPLES SEATS ) she had her push chair in the gap on the bus two children at the back ond one on seat in the front. she had her mobile on and was speaking so loud she them put her feet on the hand bars while she was speaking and she had those great big heeled shoes I have never seen anything like it . I didnt say anything only when I got on I asked her to move her bag as I needed to sit down. an elderly women got and and she did have a go at this young girl told her to get up the seat was for the elderly the girl did, she was going hell for leather at the young girl telling her she had to walk with her children she didnt have all this and that in her dayand as for putting her feet up on the bars people hang onto. They young girl should have known better but I felt sorry for her the way she was being told off. I was glad to get off the bus in Woking. took my blouses back as they were a size too small then went and got some christmas cards in Card Warehouse and brought next years calenders as well. I was tired when I got home and hot. but at least I did all I wanted to do.
Last night I watched the Irish Dancing did anyone else > it was the dancing finals. it was really good. those young people are so good at it.
time for a cup of tea now.

Rita,
Good for you keeping those Waste Traps and pipes clean. It's saves a lot of trouble if you prevent a blockage happening.
My wife used to think you could pour virtually anything down the sink. She is now a lot wiser. Thank goodness.
