I suggest that anyone that has strong opinions on this subject send some feedback under the "Contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Perhaps with overwhelming feedback they will see the light.

I LIKE all the pretty colours... cheers everything up no end... and I am inclined to feel grumpy today, so it is taking a lot to please me.... I like the wallpaper, I love the pictureframes....... and have you noticed when you have clicked on *submit* there is another pretty little thingy that tells you your post has been successful... in another pretty colour.

I like most of it.

Love

Daff xxxxxxx

or maybe it was on the edit thingy.... so let's try that out... hey, has anyone tried to edit something they posted a couple of hours ago????

Nope, it has gone back to green and cream... it was a nice pinky colour earlier, very soothing, lol

Summer Scribe.

Your right. Do you think GR will give us our money back.

The only way I have found to get some respite from all the flashing and twinkling of adverts and the garish colours is to move all my research over to The Geneologist. Don't think I am going to be renewing my subs here.

LOL Stevie N, love that little analogy and it makes a great deal of sense, but wouldn't you take the chair back if you'd ordered a table? You wouldn't leave the chair in your room and say...oh well, it'll grow on me.

GR never make sense to me, I think they live to cause as much disruption as possible... maybe they thought the forums were getting a little quiet...and this really has got them moving.

I quite like the new look but the adverts are a pain in the backside. Colours seem very subdued apart from the purple.
I'll give it a while before I say yay or nay .... off to have an exploration.

Oh dear lord that pm box is PURPLE!

Y'know this colourscheme is something like you'd get if I was messing around with coding (based on the fact that I'm so completely cr*p at it)...that doesn't say a lot for the so-called professionals that GR are paying!

I'm all for change, but change for the better. We should start a "requirements for improvement" board.

I have worked in the information technology industry for over 25 years, helping businesses improve their performance by well thought out and collaberative development of requirements for new systems.

Did you know that even today 8 out of 10 new computer systems are deemed to be failures. That percentage hasn't changed for 20 years.

The primary reason for failure is that those who are commisioned to build or improve a system are given the wrong brief. Additionally, they don't bother to find out who all the stakeholders (users) of the system are, to find out what the real requirements are.

Hence the person paying for the work wanted a "Bookcase", the IT company built a "chair", but the customer (you and I) needed a "table".
