My 16 yr old has been browsing and he is buying his mates "Grow your own boyfriend/girlfriends!!" Can't imagine what these are but he is still laughing.....

It came about because the other year we were sitting around watching the kids (my nephew and niece) opening their gifts and saying how cool they were... we were all there going "I want toys for xmas" in a really grown up way - not! So this year, when I was stumped as to what to get, I bought toys. Of course, then everyone started giving us lists LOL.

Well, my sis-in-law told me to use my imagination *snorts* We'll see in a few weeks how well that worked out LOL.

Tina, OH appreciated the need for a loo abroad but suspected stepmother picked him out deliberately!

Summer, toys for adults are a great idea.

Tesco have got some fun silly pressies. I got my brother a stunt grannie.

Jewellery for teenage girls

Watches for 7-11yos

novelty mouse mats
usb novelties. "I want one of those" has got an owl that you plug in and it sits and blinks and bobs its head. Or there are things like lava lamps and mug warmers (for those who spend a while on the net LOL)

I've bought toys for most adults this year LOL

Hi Helen, sounds fun! Youngest has already talked about these rocker chairs that do a similar job.

Yours is another route I can go down, thank-you!

It depends on what you can afford. For teenagers with computers then you can get cheap
a new mouse mat
a mouse various prices from cheap to about £50
if they play games then a new game.
Trainers, T shirt (unusual) Sweat shirt with hood.
Toiletries.

Of course if all else fails buy the adults a scratch card £1 each and you can buy whatever you can afford.

I usually ask for a voucher for the local beauty therapist (I'm one of those people for whom a bikini wax is more of a necessity than an option . . .) so I can get at least one appointment that I don't have to pay for.

My mum has threatened to give the neighbours those wheatbags you put in the microwave because I make them so she can get me to personalise the covers . . .

I take my wheatbags to craft fairs and you can find some interesting and different things there, too - I bought myself two bars of handmade soap for £2 and my dad got three canvas shopping bags for £10 at the last one. (The bags are really handy because they're very strong so we take them shopping to save on the carrier bags.)

I have been looking in at the shopping channels and come up with some original pressies.Bought our grandaughter a Slanket from QVC,its a blanket with arms that you can use to snuggle in whilst sitting on the settee or reading in bed , She often gets her quilt and wraps it around herself when she is sitting watching TV so thought this would be ideal for her. She does have central heating but still feels draughts even tho her flat is well insulated,
Also bought 2 grt grandsons remote control helicopters on buy one get one free,BARGAIN!!
both lads are around 10 so ideal pressies.
Have done lots of Christmas shopping online this year.

Hi Sue and Jill, I went to the Spirit of Christmas show at Olympia a few weeks back and bought bits and bobs for hampers, herb collections and so forth - thought plant collections were a good idea, too -spent about £240 during the day and don't seem to have a great deal for it!!!!

We've sometimes done Somerset hampers for family or friends. Nice cheddar cheese, some special apple juice, fancy chutneys and local biscuits sort of thing. If you have interesting regional foods they can be gathered and put into a box or basket. You could add a calendar with local pictures too perhaps.

It isn't a cheap option though.
