Theyre partly to blame.....the kids clothes are overpriced and fall to bits after a few washes. My son got a small bag of pick n mix from there the other day, it came to nearly £4 lol. 4 quid for a pick n mix! Think they've taken it for granted that they were safe, that they'd always have customers.

Speaking at work this morning quite a few of us said we had not been in Wollies for a year or more. Remember I used to visit at least once a week when the children were young, so perhaps it is our fault.

Karrie hiya xx I agree about the job losses. Yes, Woolies have gradually lost their way in recent years, but you would have thought that they would have had ample resources to get by, Yet another empire without foundations I fear As for C & A lol I think I was the man from C & A ... Remember those adverts ?

Rambling Report 26 Nov 2008 21:28

sad ! I bought my first chocolate buttons in Woolies as a child, when they came loose in little white paper bags....my mum bought things in there for her mum when she was a kid....

I know they made a huge mistake a number of years back when they tried to 'get clever' and redesigned a lot of their shops.... made them very 'shopper unfriendly' .

It will be a huge blow to the town in Wales I have just moved from, Woolworths was really the only shop there where you could go for everything (no major shops at all) ... and very busy all year but especially in the tourist season.

Woolworths to me always brings to mind the big red scales at the front of the shop. I suppose every woolies had a set ?
If we got lost in there as kiddies we had to go to the scales for Mum to find us.
