Are you looking for touring or somewhere to leave a van on permanantly and just visit or rent out ?

Have not stayed in one but I live close to Selsey and have worked at the sites there at different times in different capacities.

I go in to the site now for an outside agency .One of them has some quite impressive leisure facilities and they have some quite big names visit there at different times to entertain.

Hi Uzzi...being in Shropshire we are looking at anywhere within about 3 to 4 hours drive really,
been to Dorset today which took near enough 4 hours but wasn't bad as it was mainly
all on motorway , but a bit disappointed by the sites which weren't located in very good areas...

might look at S Wales tomorrow, but also thinking about Somerset and maybe north Devon...

Rose have stayed at loads of them depends where you are looking at going and what you are interested in.

Pinewoods in Wells next to sea Norfolk is great if you want quietish. We toured a lot of east Anglia and nearly all of Devon and Cornwall

Pleasant one on the Isle of Sheppey at Eastchurch, not Leysdown, quiet but with good facilities.

oooh thanks both!

do you have the name of the Berwick on Tweed one by any chance...it may be a bit far but it was a place that was mentioned to us.

what I am hoping to do is buy one for our own use but let it out for some of the time also ...we have just been down to Dorset and looked at a few sites but weren't overly impressed...the sites did not match up to the info on web very well lol... hoping to find a personal recommendation maybe :)

Sue in Somerset

Sue in Somerset Report 23 Nov 2008 20:45

Oh yes

We have a static van at a beautiful site. There are some pitches for tourers and tents too.

If you fancy a stay on the west Somerset coast near the Quantock Hills try a search for "Home Farm Holiday Centre"+Williton
It's the family run one on St Audries Bay.

I think it is as good as any anywhere. We've met people who've gone off touring and decided to come back because they can't find any better.
