Yes....she did look lovely, and Simon seems to be a great husband a father. The fee that they were paid to do this docu would have been more than enough to cover the wedding costs...I would've thought.

I thought last nights episode of this programme was very good. One thing that stood out for me was the love that Simon has for his family, particularly the daughter getting married. And wow, was she a stunner. Reminded me or 'Soroya' (sp), she was so beautiful. Even though the wedding was alot of do-it-yourself, it must have cost the earth.
Sadly, last night's was the last episode, and it has been so good.

I've watched a few, but forget it's on. Has it finished yet.

Felt to sorry for the son, but felt the mum needed to take a stance, and the dad needed to back down a bit.

Was he all show for the camera???

compelling viewing isn't it........mind you i don't know why on earth you'd want to do it..i wouldn't.

Also i wonder if the mum is jealous as she had the children when she was very young....is she seeing what she may have missed out on in Emily......i don't know but its a possibility,

btw..i was thinking today how nobody mentioned the show on here

Julia

Julia Report 24 Oct 2008 17:25

Karen, you could be right about the mother being jealous of Emily, as the father does pay her alot of attention, more even than the other children.
In last week's episode, the family were sat down watching television for the evening, and what a television, and the mother had 3/4 brand new hard back books on her knee. Now we all know the price of those.
I just can't get my head around everything about them.

it wouldn't happen in mine either but it happens in a lot of houses.

Emily does mention going to work sometimes but i don't know what she does but the parents must be giving her the money to go out because she doesn't seem to go to work that often.

I wonder if the Mum is jealous of Emily?

Although they are clearly a loving family and Emily is not a bad girl, I cant help thinking that they a are a little too leinent as far as Emily not having a job and therefore not paying her way...partying most nights and sleepiong half the day!!! uh uhh.........wouldnt happen in my house!

Julia Report 24 Oct 2008 17:06

Bella Donna - here, here, I second that. I know my OH would not have come home after a 12hr shift, and cooked a meal for a houshold of youngsters that had been home all day, especially as I was out at work aswell

Both of mine were at University at the age of 18, however, if they were at home, they would have been strongly advised to get out and get a job asap, in the meantime, they would have been given a list of chores to do before the 'workers' got home every evening.

It's one of the few things I'm really watching at the moment. I really like the parents but I agree the dad is too inconsistent sometimes. I know how they feel cos my step daughter was just like Emily at that age - a bleeding nightmare:)

I have been watching this and like someone else has already said, I find that they, especially the father tends to make a big deal and go on and on about whatever he has a bee in his bonnet about this week! How on earth can two teenage girls sharing a room the size of a rabbit hutch be expected to keep it tidy?....yet the parents' room is huge! maybe they should swap! I wonder how much they were paid?

Julia

Julia Report 24 Oct 2008 15:32

Karen - I agree about Emily, and yes the mother should have responded some way or another. But to me she is in a world of her own. I think the boy has a bit of a hidden naughty streak. I would love to know what the parents do for a living because there seems no shortage of anything in the house or clothing.

i love it...i know someone that applied to go on it too...must be mad.

Although Emily shows little respect sometimes i do feel a little sorry for her,i think she's often left out by the mum and on wednesday when she said to the mum "i'm the worst thing that ever happened to you" the mum stood there and said nothing........i'm sorry but i think she should have said of course she wsn't.
and the boy is a very sly little **** , and i can't believe how young they treat him,
