Eeyore13 Report 29 Sep 2008 18:50

I'd heard that-a mates son has had to take out a bank loan. It's awful making them vulnerable like this-but not a surprise.
Chin raised !! Just got to get my backside into gear now.lol

Jane Report 29 Sep 2008 19:04

The loans should be in when they say,as not all parents can fork out even more dosh.Luckily we are able ,but is not fair to some who could really struggle for a week or so till it goes in.

OH had to leave £60 for a book which son can get from Waterstones on Campus. We can't get it from Amazon as they are out of stock!I think we have already forked out way over £100 for books before he went.!!!!!!!

KempinaPartyhat

KempinaPartyhat Report 29 Sep 2008 22:48

Yes Helen we are the same ..we left about £200.00 for books ...he said tonight he just brought two more.

Shame when Amazon dont have them.....

Jane

Jane Report 29 Sep 2008 22:54

You can understand why some kids loose out on going to uni.How can they afford it .If they don't have parents to back up and help out.I think it is such a shame ,as there will be thousands of kids out there who should go but just don't have the opportunity.
What a shame there is all that talent maybe going to waste.

I agree with you helen

I will say one thing ..my sons dad has been great coz I couldnt have stumped up all the money ...he paid for most of it .......
