Used to make a casserole with liver and tomatoes, which was very tasty.

I do liver in a casserole -Delia Smith recipe -- liver , onions , carrots , bacon , sage , worcester sauce andpotatoes on the top -yummy and cheap too, I coat the liver too in seasoned flour.

I was told that coating the meat with flour helps to keep the flavour in. Made the mistake of feeding the cats with chicken liver quite often, then found out it was bad for them.

I don't do broad beans either -they gave my mum an horrific migraine in 1961,too frightened to try them myself since then -I could happily live on all other veg though-with a little bit of souvla!

Snap! Bev
I've just had Lambs liver & onions. I prefer pigs liver but the local Sainsbury's doesnt sell it.
My mum coats liver in flour too - but I don't. Probably because when my mum does it the liver ends up with a hard coating!!

I hate broad beans as i was forced to eat the B****y things as a child,I would either try and hide them in mashed potato or pick the outer skin off and try and swallow them whole.I recall a lot of gagging!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate the colour of the water that they are cooked in.Give me Runner beans EVERY day and I would be a happy bunny.

My way liver & onions--very thinly slice lamb/pig liver ,roll in well seasoned flour, fry quickly in olive oil adding finely sliced spring onions for the last minute of frying --delicious ,but too high in cholesterol !

Bev, All liver is nice, but they often need to be cooked in a different way.
Lambs liver is just such a *nice* tasting liver, where the others are often quite bitter.
AND... Helen, you don't like Broad Beans?
We love all beans in our house, in fact we love most vegetables.

That's right Dawn.
My mummy used to do it and taught us, it does thicken the gravy.
I do love a bit of liver.
People don't eat it much these days do they?
We have it perhaps once a week... lambs liver..... nice.
