Just rub a little talcum powder on your legs, it stoppes all the cling!!

I think you need short anchoring strings - made out of chain stitch or some thick thread and attach them between the seam of the lining and the skirt.

I'm sure I've seen it on some garments before.

Have just had a short reply from daughter, guess what? She says she is going to cut the lining out. I said not to be too hasty, that some kind people on here are trying to find solutions.

Thanks Maz and Gwyn. I can't see my daughter agreeing to (ME) sewing coins into the hem of the lining. I think she will laugh like a drain if I mention it.It makes me smile just thinking about it. Would it be just as effective if I sew 100 euro bank notes, all rolled up, into the hem? Good way to hide your money....
Come to think of it Christine, the Queen's clothes have never dared to ride up or do a Marylin (Marylyn?) Monroe on her.
Velcro sounds like a good idea.

Anyway, thank you for trying to help.Much appreciated!

Linings preserve the look of the skirt so removal seems extreme.
Aren't there anti-static undergarments / slips that might help?

when i was in the army years ago we put weights or coins in the hem to weigh the lining down ,by making a little pocket to stop them moving around .it worked for our uniform skirts ,

Does anyone have any tips to stop skirt lining from riding up and clinging to the legs? My daughter just mailed me from her place of work to ask this. She bought 2 new skirts, is wearing one of them today, but is thinking of either taking the lining out (meaning me do this)or getting rid of both skirts. Both seem a wee bit extreme.
