I had big knickers on following the advice of the wedding dress shop to have the waistband under the boned bodice,, which worked fine until I needed a pee, have you ever tried to fight a full length dress + train while you look for the top of your knickers which are under firm boning... then when you're done retuck them up and get all the layers back down straight... I ended up having to put the back of the dress over the top of my head,,,,, then I got a fit of giggles at the sight I must be presenting,,,,, bare assed with a dress over my head and a pair of big sensible knickers around my ankles...

Matthew and Jane Elwood who had my great great grandfather Francis Edward Elwood baptised in 1807 at Horsham Sussex. There is no sign of Matthew or Jane from this date and my great great grandfather was brought up as Francis Edward Elwood MITCHELL

So glad you didn't get a soaking altho a shame you couldn't use the grounds, wasn't the end of the world and you were with your family and friends and that's the most important part.

We were so incredibly lucky weather wise, it was windy but not too cold.. we just got the last guest into the reception and the heavens opened .because of the weather previously and on the day we couldn't use the gardens as we'd planned they were just too wet..
