	No they are both free and seem to work well. I just asked husband and he has made a donation to Spybot but it wasn't compulsory but we find it good. Comodo is excellent and updates itself without any bother. Sue

	We found that AVG was wanting us to update to a paying version. We deleted AVG and switched to Comodo antivirus with Spy Bot for spyware. Sue

	Good morning all, my AVG seems to be fixed now. I hope yours are all ok. A good nights sleep for me fixed it (or the people the other end while I was sleeping). Huia.

	I have just asked the same question on the Tips Board. I will leave it there in case anybody else is looking at that board and not this one. Windows did an update thing when I was ready to close last night. Could it be their fault? Huia.

	Well it is a free program....so we cant complain to much.....lol :) Im sure you'll be fine... If anything gets throught avg will pick it up once they fix the link.. ;)

	http://free.avg.com/ww.download-update-appf8 Go here and download the files at bottom of page to a folder on desktop and use the update manager from the tools menu

	Good Oh Maggie! :) Its just one file is not correctly linked on the AVG site,,,,hence the program (AVG) is unable to download the update..hence the problem..its not our fualt or the programs..its the link the the file which is the problem.. Once they spot it im sure they will rectify it and everyone will be happy again! :)

	You will be open to the particular backdoor trojan the file protects against until the the program is updated...but I shouldnt panic..it will probably be sorted soon.. Download the other files on the page i posted..that will protect you from those they refer to...
