I was in one a few years ago, the plate was dirty round the edges, grease finger marks etc.
I just asked them to take it away. I thought if I ordered anything else, they might do something nasty to it lol.
I sat and drank the wine while hubby tucked into his.

Marion,

I was in the trade for 9+ years and kids used to squirm when I complained in restaurants! I didn't really care but they always said "the chef will do something nasty to your food"

Too many stories to tell but when we stay at an hotel we always tip the restaurant manager on the first night - works wonders..lol

I've worked in the food industry for years, and prefer to eat at home, but if out, prefer small restaurants and make my own sandwiches when out for picnics!!!

Was mainly about the salt fat etc that was in them. It also showed you a company who made sandwiches and it was filthy.

Thanks Marion,
I suppose it might be better to make my own sandwiches next time I'm on a day out.
