That is no different to any other country in the world....even here in the UK a person is charged with murder - or any offence - as long as there is sufficient evidence to make a prima facie case. |

On the point of a young person knowing whther or not she was pregnant, or rather showing as such, The daughter of a cousin presented at hospital with suspected (to her) severe stomach pains. Her mother was gobsmacked to be told by nurse that daughter was pregnant and ready to deliver. She had never put on weight and, according to her, completely oblivious of the fact that she was pregnant. I think there would be many recorded occasions of this situation, so maybe the poor girl did not know she was pregnant. |

I know many people don't think it can happen but you often read of women, especially younger ones, giving birth quite unexpectedly or finding out they are pregnant when they have bad pain and are told on attending a hospital in panic, thinking appendicitis or whatever, that they are in labour. |

Tania -- a therapist in Toronto suffering from post-partum psychosis committed suicide by jumping in front of a subway with her baby in her arms a few years ago. The family knew she was suicidal and had her under 24-hour watch, but she sneaked out of the house. |

My daughter had a concealed pregnancy age 16 and 3 months , I was a midwife at the time and did ask her if she was pregnant but was told "Don`t be stupid , Mum ", but 8 weeks later Craig was born . She`s now 28 , just about to start final year at Uni studying Social Work and her son is a clever boy entering High School this year. It was the end of the world at the time , Ros xxx |

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone (and it seems to be almost everyone indeed) who declined to rush to judgment. |

With regards to getting on a flight if your lucky and not showing to much you can pretty much get a cert easily signed by a doctor, however I suspect she was already living and working out there, just cos you get a work permit doesn't stop consular intervention and representation if you are a brit cit. in trouble |
