Folkstone born and bread but lived for ten years in London and communted to London for another ten from the outskirts of Kent.

Gave up the rat race, downscaled and moved to a beautiful part of the country.

Best thing I ever did :)

Ann I missed both of the webbs one's. I thought Bristol would be quite central. Approx 2 hours by train form Brum, Plymouth, Portsmouth and London.

I shouldn't be talking to you Ann, anyway LOL You didn't warn me about the atrocious weather that turned up last Thurs/ Fri down your neck of the woods. LOL

We have had three meets at pubs near parkway station, one only last year. Can't remember the name of the second pub we used which was better than the first but Guinevere might remember, or Viv, or Mandy if she is looking in tonight.

We have also had two meets at Webbs Garden centre near Droitwich, just off the M5.

Well the river runs through the centre of Bristol so you can go downtown to where the theatres and pubs are. Theres a floating restaurant as well which overlooks the prettier side of town.

The station is actually in the Temple Gate area which is hotels and offices legal, insurance and banking - I suppose you could say it is our Docklands area. But its not far into town.

Theres an ok pub called the knights templar you should be able to see on your map - its in the 'city' bit and used mainly by office types - food isnt too bad.

Yes the 'nice' train station is Templemeads its very beautiful and historic. Bristol is undergoing a multi million pound redevelopment at the moment though and wont be finished till late sept - so driving by sat nav is a NO NO! LOL

Theres lost of History in Bristol and you can even see the nails up on the harbour where saying hitting the nail on the head was coined.

We have the SS Great Briton here too - and Corn Street was built on medievil ruins. A statue of Brunel is not far from the station and there is some fantastic archetecture as well as great views.

Theres quite a few of us live this way on here. Depends what sort of meet you want, theres Bristol Zoo if you want to bring kids and have a picnic, The Mall for Coffee's or most people can bus or train it to Broadmead for Pubs and restaurants.

Be Careful if your not local though, Bristol has two Train Stations, Templemeads and Parkway. Parkway is motorway drive from centre of Town - Templemeads is a 15 min walk to town or an 8 or 9 bus which run every 10 mins.

Does anyone live in that sort of area?

Was thinking about doing a meet and thought it was a central sort of location. does anyone have any ideas of where we could meet?
