Ann, my mum worked in a factory making stockings so she bought me one of the first pairs of tights. They had coloured tops and when the tights became laddered you could wear the tops as a pair of pants Voila!

Funny Tina, a friend and I were talking today about the fact that when we were younger we could pick any outfit up and look fairly reasonable in it and now at our age, everything we pick up seems to make us look like a dogs dinner!! Hate clothes shopping now - nothing ever seems to be made to fit me!

Tina I was a teenager in the sixties so loved them - remember fashions seem to change on a weekly basis
White knee length boots have just come to mind

Of course, the maxi how could I forget. Had an orange (yes you read it right) maxi coat and someone said I looked like a blancmange - not sure how I should have taken that
Just remembered HOT PANTS - I had red satin ones. YES my taste was really that bad

Hello Jenny

bless you, I was born in 1957 so was at school in the 60's so dont really remember much apart from study study study. lol.

I suppose I did have a mini skirt not that I had the figure for one really lol

I also drove the neighbours mad with my one record of the 60's and that was Sugar Sugar by the Archers. In fact they took pity on me as it was the only record I had and passed over a load of their singles which I still have today - original Cliff Richards and Diana Ross and the Supremes to name two of them.

What do you remember?

I can tick all of the above! lol

I also recall the advent and availability of hair-pieces (I had one and had it incorporated in my hair when I got married)
Midi and maxi length coats - handy went it was Winter (especially with a mini underneath)

Vidal Sasoon haircuts - all the rage - angle cuts, and costing a fortune.

Shoes with Louis (or kitten) heels, and straps over the ankle (like grannie shoes)

Meeting my OH - but that's another tale!
