my oh goes in for his hernia op tomorrow....he's very nervous about it and not good with hospitals,needles etc.

Awww poor thing....................tell him my husband was exactly the same.

We went in and I told the nurse he was petrified..............think the grey pallor and shaking gave it away though:)

They were fantastic and he felt much calmer once he was on the ward, he knew then that there was no going back and he was fine.

After his 6 hour op, he was telling everyone there was nothing to it:))

He has to go back in soon to have another operation and isn't really bothered at all.

They will probably give him a sedative to calm his nerves though.................bless him.

karen, my hubby had ambilical hernia done 2 years ago, what type is it?,
he'll be ok, they'll look after him, does he get tea and biccies after, hubby did. :))

Kaz, it begins with an i but can't remember the excat name but i think he might be worried and the knife might slip and get his naggers...lol.
I shouldn't laugh really......it just tickles me that he can't stand blood etc but he's a butcher....

i'm off for the night now as we have to be at the hospital at 7.30am so that means being up at 6am....not a time that i'm usually familiar with...lol

Sending him positive thoughts Karen, they will give him something to relax him before the op if he tells them he is nervous. Once he is there he will be fine.

Hi all,

just to let you know he had the op....they gave hime some sedation because he was so frightened. anyway op took around 40mins but he took a long time to recover and they were quite concerned but at 3.30 he was allowed home and is now asleep on the sofa,

Glad hes ok Karen, my Dad is like that, he was terrified when he had a big op for bowel cancer,

Val....i wish he would sometimes but he's not good a resting....he wanted to go back to work tomorrow......as you can imagine there have been a few"discussions" in our house this week.
