Thought you might like to know I have found a possible match in someone else's family tree for Mary Wheeler born 1883 in Windsor. I have contacted them - so fingers crossed - they might be able to tell me something useful. |

I think Grmaine and Ann are right. It is probably the younger Mary Elizabeth. I will check the marriage certificate of the parents and try to get as much info about this family as possible. Who knows there might be a clue somewhere else in the family tree. I will also try to find out what happened to the younger Mary Elizabeth. |

she may just have put that name on the birth cert. In 1903 there would have been a lot of shame for being an unmarried mother and a lot of cover ups. You may never know. |

Liz did you read my post? Was she the 40 year old's child or the 20 year old's? Alexander snr age 40 was a tea dealers clerk in 1901 no mention of the army. |

Thanks Germaine too! So the mother would have been about 43 yrs when Annie Alexandra was born. I wonder why they gave her up for adoption... |
