Oh dear... I love my dad, but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him!! He never was a huggy, cuddlesome man, and with one of my 7 siblings and me he was often a bit too ready with his fists. Never once hit the boys mind... my mother wouldn't have let him do that.

So love my mum though I do, I don't trust her 100% either. lol

No, for me it is my OH.. he is wonderful, and I can tell him absolutely anything and everything!

Strangely, Caz and Christina... hubby was in the Army for 34 years... we married when he had been in 5 months, and we had been engaged 15 months, so I understand where you are coming from.

He has been away to all the major war zones, sometimes for 10 to 18 months at a time, and some of them more than once!
He isn't a talker, but is a great listener and letter writer.... and for me, when he was away, it was where we really learned to be open and honest, to tell each other our hopes and fears and dreams in our letters to each other... and stuff that we might not have found so easy to talk about face to face!

Yes, definitely OH is my best mate, although I do have a couple of others I trust, none to the same degree!

Love

My OH was away in the Navy for 6 months when we were younger and for shorter periods. But he is still my best friend, I trust him with my life and tell him everything.

I used to trust everyone until I was let down by someone whom I regarded as a close friend. That was 10 years ago. It still hurts. Needless to say, we are not friends any more. The one that I would trust most now is my Mum. She is the only person who really cares about me, although I don't tell her everything. I am very lucky to have three very close friends who I would trust with my life. We have been friends now for over 35 years. We all appriciate how lucky we are. We have been through lots of difficult times together..........I am blessed

Difficult. I suppose first it was my sister and fantastic BIL when he was alive - easier to discuss probs with the children when they were younger, with them, without them being judgmental. As the children have now grown up, I trust them - and my sister's children, and my brothers, and my SIL.

Hmm looks like I keep it in the family and have MANY people I trust!! LOL
I love the family group above - it's like a grapevine. a problem works it's way through and those who can help will.

I also trust my youngest's partners mum & dad (known them over 10 years) and am working out my eldest's partner's family - so far absolutely lovely - his mum and I just clicked when we met!!
Any family that can accept someone elses child, like they have accepted - and fallen in love with - my grand daughter is worth their weight in gold. Now we have a 'joint' grand child in the form of our grandson - we are getting even closer.
