Jean, your right, most people have stopped going places because of the rough elements, including myself, i used to be a bouncer in moss side manchester, and ive had guns pointed at my head, been attacked by idiots, and that never frightend me, but not so long a go i went out for the first time in years and saw this poor lad get stamped on until he didnt move, i tried to stop it, but they turned on me, and no one helped either one of us, i called my son and he came with all his friends to get me and the boy to safety, but by the time they got there the others had left and i called an ambulance and the police, so i dont go out no more, id rather save for two years and go to spain in a villa with my children and grandsons its much safer and i get to relax and get the sun and have people treat me with respect. its so sad when you have to leave where you were born and go out of england to get peace from you own. they say dont help any one coz it could be you next, how very true, but how can any one leave some one being hurt so bad, i just dont understand it. where are all the do/gooders when some ones having the sxxx kicked out of them, or the police with there low crime rates, or the mps chilling in there nice big homes in safe areas. come and live on my estate and they would soon change there minds. my niece went to wigan the other night a big fight started and her hand bag got snatched with her house keys car keys bank cards ect, now she has to pay £259 to get new keys for her car, she said it was one big mass of people fighting and some got hurt very bad, shes not a street wise girl and she was frighten, the police has asked if she saw any thing, she wouldnt comment coz the same people have her bag with her address in, how sad is that, to frightend to say any thing, she said she would never go far from her home again regardless if it was a hen night she went too. a twenty odd year old frightend to go out, she will get old before her time and never have fun its just not right. i wish i could win the lottory i soon move to spain with my kids and grandsons and give them a safer better life. my birth right england is just not safe any more, its a shame coz england has some lovely place and lovely land and veiws with some nice people. to think my dad and many more fort for england for what, for those people to be disrespected beaten up frightend to go out of there homes, to be laught at and told no one told you to fight for england. i have to go because im so mad at these little sxxxs im ready for bursting.

It broke my heart to see that lad's brother sobbing as he talked about Rob, seems Rob was the kind of person to try and smooth things over if there was trouble and was trying to protect his brother.
As others have said, what a dreadful waste of a life, by some little waste of space who thought he was tough. We have had stabbings etc in Norwich altho thank heavens, it isn't as bad as other places yet. It will happen tho unless something is done to come down hard on these idiots who think they are cool to carry weapons and act tough.

My son is coming up to 26 and I used to say to him once he was out and about in the city at nights etc, if you see someone in trouble don't go to get involved cos you might get hurt, go and get help from the police etc, don't try to be a hero. It was hard to say that as I know he is the kind of person to want to help someone but I feared for him so much. He is a good mediator, others have told me, but I worry all the time that one day someone will take it out on him and I will lose him.
There is no justice in this world in any way, it always seems to be the decent people who get hurt or worse and the toerags get away with it all.
Car thieves are seldom the ones getting killed in crashes, they run off while the people in the car they crash into are the ones who die or are maimed.
Rest in Peace, Rob, another statistic but someone's loved one and taken too soon.

you are right jean some kids are as you say, and yes they do , do things like cut up clothes to get new ones. these days you would not get proper parenting in schools these days, like you stated every one is to lenient these days. my daughter is a young 22yr old single mum with two children both under 6yrs old, they have to wash there hands sit at the dinner table say grace and eat what shes done for them none of what do u want for dinner, she makes them eat veg ect, every night they go to bed at the same time even in school holidays, and they have to say please and thank you, they can not be disrepectful to any one, they have to do home work, only 2 hours a day t.v. most of that is educational. shes very stricked, i dont blame her though, shes says just because we live in a getto my kids dont have tobe gettho rats.

It starts with toddlers being allowed too much of their own way, no rules. All family eating at table and manners should be taught. Having been a supervisor in a girls approved school for 4 yrs, I can tell you girls can be worse than the boys, and social services are far too lenient with them. I have known a girl cut up her clothes because she fancied new ones, and she was then taken out to buy a whole new wardrobe, while staff were working all hours to earn money to dress their kids. If parents do not live by the general rules of decent society, how can we expect better from their offspring. Proper parenting could be taught in schools, or even given to adults who do not seem to know how to look after their children. Sorry to rant, but makes me mad. Jean

hi rita, thank your for your comment regarding me not being racist, i feel like my dad used to say send them to boot camp not y.o.i that dont help them, they can still get drugs ect in here, let the army sort them out none of this kids are not understood, sorry but thats bull s.... maybe there are not enough places for them to go, but when they do get some where they reck it them selfs. we never had places to go and all what the younger people of this world has, the do gooders need to shutup or put up, when i was young if i did some thing wrong my dad crackted me one i never did it again. i wonder if one of the do gooders children got hurt if they would feel the same then. i had a friend that went to work and her son hurt some one she was beside her self as she thought her son had gone to school, she was a stricked mam, that is why i say some not all parents are not to blame as they do not bring there kids up like that they just turn out little sxxxs, and make the parents that are good and try and bring there kids up right look stupid and unfit. i think DERMOT says it all. i could go on for ever about this, the estate where i live is just the same i feel sorry for those kids who are trying and the bullies who come a long and make there lives hell,

I just feel grateful I live somewhere where this kind of thing is relatively rare.Although it does happen.I don't understand how things have got so bad and so many young people(my sons age) are being killed.What a terrible waste of life.

I think its time these "Ferell youths" were "Named" in the papers and not have their Identity hidden because of their age,anyone found carrying a Knife or any other offensive weapon,should be put in jail for at least a week,anyone killing should be charged with "Murder" not the lesser charge of "Manslaughter". If they go out with offensive weapons,there is "Premeditation",the Law is too soft on these people and their Parents.**M**.Ps. Rita,Would the Licenses be for them or the dogs,after all a dog is only as good as its owner.

Last week my gson and two friends they are 14 were in local park they were asked the time by by some older lads' Mitch's friend got his Mobile out and one of the old lads took it off him they then told Mitch and his other friend to give up there phones which the other boy did Mitch would not give his up so one grabbed him round the neck and pushed him to the floor then tried stamped on him he rolled over jumped up and ran away. These lads have been arrested. What worried me was should he have just given his phone up as i think he was lucky he could of been badly hurt Valxxx

Im glad my own children are aduls now,what a worry to parents bringing children up today.
I personly think the problem goes back to no discipline,anywhere and in turn ,no respect for anyone or anything.Things are only going to get worse as the generation growing up to be the next generation of young males,have already got the attitude.
what do you do about this?I dont know,but I do know that has gradually crept up over a period of years,and hasnt happened overnight.
Its a very sad situation

The combination of youth, testosterone, knives, and booze is a lethal mix. As volatile as a bomb waiting to explode.

As well as stop and search, I'd like to see availablity of cheap alcohol severely restricted and the drinking age raised.

And more parental responsibility please.

,,,,but so many are ending up fatal stabbings of young people below 25,,and that is a very worrying thing for parents of young teenagers,,,,,,,,

It makes it hard to know what to teach your children nowadays. Do you tell them to stick up for themselves or walk away. MY 11 yr old was at the local little park with his friend when a gang of older boys started on them my son said something to them (he said he was fairly politely) they just said they would get them and started throwing stones at them(my son is small for his age), luckily they jumped on there bikes but a stone hit my son and he fell off his bike, just a graze on his hand, but it really shook the pair of them up.

They could have had a knife what do you say?

A friend of mine who has sons and one daughter always worried more about her daughter,but the lad's aren't any safer out in the streets nowaday's.
