Yes, Ann, I am Irish.Where were you born?I come from Cork, but my father was Scottish.Easter mentions pigs trotters, we used to call them crubeens.Never ate them, my mother only cooked them for our uncle who lived with us, we were allowed to suck the bones! Sounds disgusting now, doesn't it?

I used to eat tripe as a little girl and cows ure(udder) and pigs trotters,white and black puddings---none of which I ever eat now

My mother made the most gorgeous apple pie. Another favourite was tripe cooked in milk and onions.The latter will probably make most of you shudder.

What food from your childhood do you remember with mouth watering recollections? lol
I loved my mams home baking,especially the fruit pies
and her mince and dumplings with cabbage,peas and mash
