Colin I still have my Mum's blackbird pie funnel.

My Mum used to make a wonderful bacon and onion suet roly poly which she used to serve with mash and cauliflower and a white sauce.

She also made lovely pastry so, steak and kidney pies, egg and bacon pies, apple pies etc.

And steak and kidney pudding. which she would steam for hours. (obviously no pcs to take her time in those days it would probably boil dry in this house.

Mum's Steak pie with a little crock funnel in the shape of a bird with its beak open that she used to stick in it to let the steam escape. My dear 78 year old Mom still makes wonderful Shepherd Pies but was a bit shocked that she roasted a joint of beef and minced it to provide the meat!

Easter Bunny -

Now I'm loving the sound of your braised lamb with leek pudding - receipe please (I'll pass it to OH who's a fantastic cook, much better than me)

but what I'd give anything for my mum to make again is her wonderful cornish pasties (made in Yorkshire but still fantastic) and also her coconut cake which was made in a big oblong tin & cut into fingers.

Scrumdiddlyumptious !!

Maria :0)

Bacon and onion pudding, roast potatoes ( I just can't make them like my mum), Cherry Cake, Tottenham Cake, Beef Stew and Dumplings. Once my aunt attempted it in the pressure cooker but forgot to put the weight on. She was scrapping beef stew off the ceiling for a week

I accidently deleted my last posting!

Only said I didn't like school dinners as a teenager, even though they were very well-cooked etc, but loved the spotted Dick and jam roly poly with custard. Amanda, you say you are dribbling, I really need a bib now....
Ann, my uncle used to take me to Mallow often when I was staying in Millstreet for the summer hols. but, Macroom beats it-for ME, it is such a cheerful, friendly, bustling little market town, or was two years ago.We ate in the lovely covered market in Cork, several times, their puds. were really something. Tasted bread & butter pud.with custard for the first time.Gorgeous!!
