Yes Daff I was a snowdrop worked with redcaps and Naval regulators though during my time.

took it out of my mouth Daff!! Having worked with the light blue, I always see white caps as opposed to red!!

Going back 12 years, i work at a school cleaning save for our holidays, they ask me to show her the job, it was 2 hours work a night, there was 5 big classrooms, the library,headmasters office plus 2 long corridors to be cleaned with buffing machine,at the end of 2 hours she said i'm kn------d her words,tell the boss i'm going back cleaning with the hospital that says it all to me, was tempted to follow.

Lol Ann... we lived with them all, lol!! We generally saw more redcaps than white, though... until we went to live in your area... then we were the only khaki for ages, lol!

I might not be the best one to reply to this after my latest dealings with the NHS but from what I have seen my daughter go through lately they need to employ more doctors who do the job because they want to help and look after people not just because it is a well paid job.

I dont use it so its a pain in the b*m to be paying for it ...........

Yes when I need it I will and I guess it will cost more than I,ve paid in!!!

My husband had to retire early 13 years ago due to a very rare cancer. He has had an enormous amount of care and some very expensive treatments.

Some of his medications have left him with other complicated conditions.
His reduced immune system left him vulnerable to infections and he's nearly died several times. In fact on 3 separate occasions I've been told he wouldn't survive the night.

Last year on top of all that he needed surgery for an unrelated bowel cancer with a lot of followup care.

He is still here and I thank everyone in the NHS for the job they do. In fact I can't thank you all enough.

Nothing is perfect but I think we are really lucky to live in a country where there is a national health service.

after spending the last week in hospital cant praise the, ward Drs, nurses and care assistants, cleaners enough. Most of the time they were joking with each other and the patients while still getting on with their work,
Think the porters had lessons off Lewis Hamilton cos they wheeled you about so fast but were cheery and even when I was in a state made sure i didnt rush out of the wheelchair and got back in my chair safely.

My one criticism is that at beginning of the week Neurology were asked to see me and they didnt come as they were busy elsewhere so now have to wait for an outpatients appointment which is taking one away from someone else and left me feeling no better and still in a fuzzle.

think it takes a special person to be a nurse/carer and they have my admiration

In the main I think we get a good service, and our GP lately has been magnificent.
But I do think that there are possibly layers of staff that could be changed to patient care rather than management.
And while in general I've had good examples of hospital care for family members I've also had some care of an elderly relative which made me realise that some nursing staff are not there for a vocation, and that they just see it as a job and put no effort into the compassionate side of things.

*seals lips* loose tongues and all that! lol

ive had to use it and resorted to my health plan in the end cos its been useless , in fact worse than useless

i said whats point, they just um and argh and give you nowt that helps
