You know Louise, thought about this one for a long time, (getting to that stage).. Me ? I'm not really bothered.. King or tramp, rich or poor, we all have to go, the 'sending off' may be different.. Just one nice long sleep.... John x

Uggers

Uggers Report 17 May 2008 12:57

Not at this moment in time but then I don't think I'm very near. If I was I might be. The only that worries me is that it will hurt.

No it doesn't scare me.Not the actual death anyway.
Given a choice I would rather not have a terminal illness and lingering time but I feel there is always hope and progress in the world of medicine.

I hope to be around for a good while yet but who knows?....My brother had died by the time he was my age but Mum lived until she was 94, so it's a bit of a gamble.

I think we all agree on going 'peacefully' - I don't want any suffering/pain - I'll die a 'coward.. John lol

I think when you are young the subject doesn't come up it's only when you get older and then start worrying about those you will leave behind.Don't fancy cremation or burial think I'll ask NASA to shoot me into space or maybe ask Scottie to beam me up he he.

Without being morbid, can you imagine being burried or burnt alive by being mistakinly classified as 'dead', Yuk.....Now that scares the.......out of me...lol.. john.

Lyndi Report 17 May 2008 13:12

The peaceful option in my sleep is the one I am hoping for, but I am also aware that this would leave my family totally unprepared - and someone would be in the awful position of finding me.

My job is end-of-life care, and a lot of work goes into controlling syptoms and making this time as peaceful and dignified as possible.

Me too,John!!
and it has happened!!
Theres a condition that some people have that can make them seem dead.
Years ago they had no Idea about it and people were Buried alive.

Families would bury their loved ones with a bell, just Incase they werent actually dead,Horrific:-((

It happened to a man in Glasgow 3 times he had to have a disc round his neck. One woman in America was in the morgue, couldn't speak it was only the mortuary attendant who saved her saw the tears pouring out of her eyes. Just doesn't bear thinking about. Me I want second opinions not some junior doctor's say so, or I aren't gonner go.
