Muffy i bought a cream suit for my sisters wedding £180 + bag etc spent a fortune. Never worn it again as never had anywhere nice enough to go out in, what a waste of money that was.

I feel i fool as i could have got away with not spending so much money and bought other stuff.

So i say go for it girl. Good for you.

hi muffy, you could cheat and sew different labels in, but why bother? no one sees the labels. if you feel comfortable and happy with your choice you can make it original with your own accessories. ps. enjoy the wedding. xxxxx

Muffy I saw a really pretty dress in Tescos at the weekend - it caught my eye as I was going passed but I was in a hurry. It was white with what looked to be blue butterflys and I thought it would look lovely for a Christening I am going to.

To be honest - if you feel comfortable and good in something it shouldnt matter what the label is.

I mix and match High Street, with Supermarket with Deisgner. The only consideration I make with High St clothes is how much wear do I want out of them? The prices are very reasonable and you can afford to change each season.

If you like it and feel good in it - go for it is my opinion. And you are far more likely to carry a pretty dress off and be complimented on it if you feel good, than a designer you are too scared to spill something on and feel uncomfortable.

It's not an out and out wedding outfit type dress it will have to be dressed up a bit ......on it's own it's more of a summer dress. Looks linen but it's not xx

This dress does fit soooooooo nicely. It is one of those that has a kind of band under the bustline then flares out a tad so that it doesn't cling in the wrong places lol. Most other dresses of a similar style ended up making me look shapeless but this one for some reason really doesn't.

The shocker of it is that OH really likes it and he NEVER likes what I buy until I've worn it several times, and he's used to it, as a rule lol. Don't know whether that's a good or bad thing really lol xx

what a load of poppyplop.....if you feel comfy in it so be it..you could pay millions for an out fit but doesnt mean you feel a million dollars init...get it Muffy...thats what I say...

I went to my cousins very posh wedding in a suit from Asda. I'm going to another cousins extemely posh do in January and I'm eyeing it up in the wardrobe to see if I can get away with it again. (By the way I'm NOT posh, just have better off relations). Wear what you like, what looks good on you and what you feel comfortable in.
And feel smug when you see someone bragging about how much their outfit cost when they look Hideous really.

Just thought i would add something to this - I got married last year and it was more important that my friends and family were there and that they saw us get married etc than what they were wearing. Everybody looked good, the women all looked stunning and i know that some of them were not wearing big shop labels.
My 4 bridesmaids dresses were in an end of season sale the year before and cost £37....(3 daughters and 1 niece) fortunately they grew as anticipated and i was very lucky. The 4 boys( 2-his, 2-mine) each had new school shirts and the trousers came from tesco at £6 each. I'm not a total cheapskate but even though it was a specal day all the kids have grown in 11 months and they can't wear it again.
My dress was an end of line and an odd size so it only cost £70. my maid of honour's Ensemble cost nearly as much as everyone else's all put together but she has worn the dress twice and the hat once since then so well worth every penny.
At the end of the day my motto is if i feel and look good then who cares how much has or hasn't been spent.. Enjoy looking for all the accessories and most of all enjoy your friends wedding xxxxx

Seems pretty unanimous !!! lol.

I have tried dresses on from *Coast* *Next* *Monsoon* and all the posh names and they just didn't look or feel right on..... plus the cost was an issue.

Even if this one had been double the price though I'd still have gone for it because of the way it covers up my worst bits plus after the wedding it's the sort of dress I can dress down again and wear for a night out at the pub with a pair of flip flops and a baggy cardi so it'll last beyond the day.

The irony is the friends who pooh poohed it cos it was from Tescos really liked it before they found out where it was from lol.

Sooooooo ta everyone. Decision made ......I'm off to find a pair of red shoes and a red shrug or shawl now......with the cash I've saved on the dress I can, if necessary push the boat out a bit more with the accessories.

If you feel good in it Muffy, then buy it......it doesn't matter where clothes are from, it is how you feel in it that matters......

Go for it. When I went to my school leavers' ball, I got this burgundy dress for it from Debenhams - cost about £70. I wanted a shawl or something to go with it - we spent a week looking for one, couldn't find it.

On the afternoon of the ball, I was dropped off at the hairdressers and my mum went into town to look for a shawl or stole or something. She found a sheer black sarong in Mackays so that was what I wore with my dress. No one ever knew it cost £6!
