Susan

as I have already mentioned in PMs and above

If you get the marriage certificate, you will at least confirm the Fathers name.

So far all indications are that Robert and Susannah were the parents of Mary but it may be that he married before ...there is a marriage on the IGI for a Robert and Elizabeth at about the time Mary was born.....As it seems that George is the brother of Mary, ( Parents on IGI says Robert and Susannah ) perhaps a birth certificate for him may also shed some light.....also looking for a death of an Elizabeth before/after birth may help.....sometimes only so much can be done via the internet.

It seems by Mary's birth county and that of Robert that these Busby's are not connected with mine unless it is much further back in time which I have not as yet looked into.

My advice was by pm, and still is....start with certificates....there is much information on them even an address sometimes.

If you need to ask a question about them on Tips....maybe you could ask if someone has the parish records and can do a lookup for you. Please give as much information as you can.

May I also advise that when asking about Mary in future requests, that you let the people know what information you have already been given, so that they don't go over the same ground in fruitless searches.

Have you tried the trying to find board?.....Perhaps someone else is also trying to find the parents of Mary Busby.....

As I have already said, by pm..there has been extensive work done by another on the internet. ( try entering the name and place in Google ) Perhaps they can help you further, if they haven't already, as you seem to have exactly the same information as they do.

My old Head Master was Mr Busby(first name something like Coish)I am sure that spelling is wrong, but it sounded like that.I was at Plymstock Comprehensive ,Plymstock Plymouth in the mid 60's.He lived in a village called Wembury.I hope this may help as Busby doesn't seem a common name.
Good luck

Hi Susan,

Thank you for Pming me. I have answered via Pm.

I find it best to bookmark ones threads which can then be found more easily. Even 'my threads' move very fast sometimes, but the bookmarked ones usually stay on your first page longer.

looking forward to helping with your Busby line.
