Me too Kitty, but I believe it to be true.

I would not lie to a friend so I don't expect them to lie to me.
It is very worrying though.

I don't think GR would ever say who we had to share our tree with.................maybe the person who said that misunderstood them.

If I was told to share my tree with someone I didn't want to share it with..............I would remove it from this site.

Neither did I, but I did hear of one who is quite upset about it.

Can't name names, but it worried me that I may be forced to share my tree.
For one... it cost me a firtune, if you want to talk to me about someone in my tree okay, but MUST I give you all of it?

I actually don't mind sharing with genuine people... and have done, but to be ordered to? I don't think that is right.

Well I do agree and thisnk we should have the right to deny access to our tree if we want to.
BUT I know of one person on here who has been told by GR to share her tree with someone who has asked her.... even though she does not want to.

How could GR have the right to tell me with whom I MUST share my tree?
Has anyone else been told this?

Yes, it happened to me as well, so annoying when your tree is passed on without your permission

Have discovered yet another example of someone who has clearly passed on all the details of my family tree (presumably via a GEDCOM file) to someone with whom I have had no previous contact.

All MY notes in their original form are present, word for word - involving hours of research on place names, occupations, queries about possible mistakes etc. I know ALL the information came from me.

I URGE all of you with any concerns about privacy to be very careful about who you gives Tree Access to and to remember to remove that privilege once someone has had access (hit 'stop').

Not happy!
