Anybody out there old enough to remember Archie Andrews on the radio.
How many of you thought that the doll actually sat on Peter Broughs knee in the radio station.

Admit it if you did, also why did uncle mac get more requests forSparky than Not fade away by the stones.
Riged if you ask me

And - how come people on Crackerjack got a cauliflower? And how come did Cathy McGowan have the coolest fringe? And who said "I'll give it fooive"?

Finally, where is Much Binding in the March?

And who was that idiot who wrote to Pete Somebody-or-other who did the Saturday morning show on the Light Programme asking for Roy Orbison to say "Mercy" a hundred times? Oh, it was indeed me!

(ps - good to hear from you, US.)

Hi Sue and everybody

Inreply to last night you said nothing wrong, exept Herbert was a little upset that you suggeststed he lived in a GINGER CAT.
when in fact he and miss Molly the pole dancing flea(who are in a relationship) live in a 7 bed mansion on the edge of Exmoor , with stables, a gym , jacucuzi and a butler.

however i have now re-considered my career and have decided against neuro surgery and theology.

So have decided to become a zeppelin repair man what do you think?

does anyone else remember when you could buy three singles (6/8 each) for exactly a pound?

And tuning into Fluff Freeman for the chart show on Sunday at 6 on the Light Programme?

And trying to keep a signal to Radio Luxembourg on a very small transistor radio?

Not, you'll understand, that I'm 50 something!

Hi US

I'm (seriously) relieved about that. I re-read last night's thread earlier today just to make sure I hadn't said anything untoward.

Zepp don't need repairing - one of the very few who were never broken!

PS - are Herbert and Miss Molly being featured in Hello at any time in the near future? Are they the flea equivalents of Pete the Six Pack Chest, No Pack brain and his anatomically challenged wife?

(glad I didn't say anything out of turn)

I had this transistor radio - complete with brown leather carrying case - bought for me for passing my 11plus.

Radio Lux had the amazing ability to keep floating off bandwidth. And when pirate radio stations were banned, I started my career as a political lobbyist by writing to the Sec of State demanding freedom of listening. Aged 11. Surprisingly, no reply!

Emperor Roscoe ruled, though!

And the inimitable John Peel.

My big sister and I shared a bedroom. She used to listen to Radio Luxembourg under the bedclothes. All was well unless she fell asleep first and the radio went off station - I was left with nasty fuzzy sounds coming from her bed!!!

herbert says he's not pandering to the whims of Hello or any other magazine not without a good solicitor and agent miss molly will agree to anything but would prefer a pedigree French poodle or wel mannered kodiak bear
