do you have? Good or bad, eccentric or aloof? I have a friendly lot on one side, she has 5 grown up sons, always feel quite safe when they're out on the front. The other side, ahem, better watch what I say as they breed like rabbits and there's millions of them all over the midlands, pmsl.

i have lovely neighbours but to be honest the majority of people on our side of the estate are brill

the children never move to far from the parents so we all no each other pretty well

i will define nosey for you romany years ago when i was coming in extremely late or early in the morning however you look at it without a doubt there would be my male neighbour who i will call "nameless" stood at the front door without fail other times he would be hanging out the window-not literally of course, he never missed a trick and knew all the ins and outs i swear that man never slept. god knows what his wife used to say to him

I think Im a tad nosey when it comes to other peoples neighbours!

this was when i lived at my mum and dads and he had been a neighbour for years and had always been that way.i would stagger out of a taxi and there he would be smoking his head off at the door he`d always speak in this awful gruff voice although i felt like telling him to.... well you know go away you nosey person.... but obviously not in that polite way i think he was born nosey.must admit i like a nose myself although i wouldn't go to the extremes the way he used to i always used to say you could go to the otherside of the world and still bump into him... he was that type of person

Great neighbours, in fact the whole cul de sac of people are friendly.

Fairly good. Teenagers both sides. 2 huge 'hoodie' teenage lads one side who usually have loads of friends around - but come round to ask if I mind them putting up a higher fence for their mum to stop their dog getting into my garden - and pond!! They also went into major panic mode when the kittens (3 months old at the time) got into their garden!! They look threatening but are cute.
Sooo protective of their little half sister when she stays.
Other side, which is attached to me, the past 3 families have had a tendency to lay stair carpet at 4am!! Present family have teenage boy and girl. The girl sometimes has annoying boyfriends - car radio blaring while they're waiting for her.
The boy plays drums, and has recently taken up the electric guitar - but usually plays about 3 - 5 in the afternoon and warns me when he and his mates are having a 'jamming' session!! Walls are thick so it's not too noisy.

Over the road are nice. We have our resident human 'terrier' Tim, who hollers at the passing trouble (p*ssd teenagers' )if they're too noisy - he's really just worried about his car!! lol
NIce young family across the road.

The only irritating one is the social worker just down the road!! Rubbish all over the garden, bin left on the pavement and the way she speaks (at over 90 decibles) to her small boys - she deserves to be reported!! I don't like to be woken at 8 on a Sunday morning by a screeching harridan!!

My neighbour once stole my cat and gave him to an animal shelter because she'd just got a new cat and the two of them used to fight all the time.
Crazy old bird! I had to pay £60 to retrieve my own cat!!

We live on a terraced cul de sac street, we are the end house. Next to us is an old peeps home, with some lovely residents and some who do nothing but moan, and a warden who complains about everything, the car park next to us was a turn around point for the street, but has been blocked, caused so much agro as no one can turn round now!


Our neighbours mostly keep themselves to themselves, mostly elderly, no real community spirit, apart from a couple.

Sunshine Bear, how did you cope having to see that woman every day? One side of me are so gobby, and the nephew is only 14 but involved with a gang who go round stealing garden furniture every summer. I was talking to my husband in the garden saying he should be given as asbo....hadnt realised neighbour had come out to hang her washing out, and I know she heard me. Had very funny stares off her family since, and they all live on the street.

sunshine bear thats terrible.speaking of cats my lovely one is very much a home cat and is not that keen on going out...only for the necessary.anyway where i used to live i would let her out and all of a sudden she would be gone for hours and come home smelling as though she had smoked 40 benson and hedges found out she used to go and keep some old lady company and in return would get an extra feed cheeky so and so

It was awful - how she could stand and watch me and the kids out looking for him night after night is beyond me.
She never said a word when we got him back either!
She still lives next door so i try to keep my new cat in as much as possible now.

I've only one neighbour - a retired gent in his sixties, who is a shopping channel devotee. He buys everything.

Recent purchases include:

a. a security camera. which is outside of his living room window. Sounds useful? But I asked him how often you need to change the tapes. Apparently, there are no tapes. What you have to do is wait until there's an "incident" and then record it. How is that any different than watching out the window and then taking a picture? Goodness only knows what he paid for this useless bit of kit.

b. A box load of assorted men's trousers.

c. An electric sewing machine - to take up the ones which were too long. None apparently fit first time and the short ones/thin ones/fat ones were given to a charity shop.

d. A docking station for an I-pod. Which of course he doesn't have. Yet.

sunshine it had usually worn off by the next day although i was tempted to give her a bath.i smoke myself but my cat never smells like cigs so god knows how many the old lady used to smoke.i don't blame you for trying to keep your cat in that woman has obviously got something wrong with her to do that-very cruel xx

I think she was having troubles cuz she's never done anything crazy since (or not to me at least!!)

My other neighbours are two disabled blokes and their carers. They are all lovely and the man with Downs always puts my bin out for me on collection day - and returns it for me when the bin men have been.
