sorry about that Gill but members on here should be aware that Chat sites that claim to be safe are not that safe at all. Anybody that knows a thing or two about computers can get into emails.

You'd have to wonder what sort of reason they'd think appropriate. And I'd have thought that if they found something dodgy in your PMs they'd have to have a word with you rather than passing on what the PM contained to a third party.
Just one thought though another forum I frequented had a spate where someone supposedly close to another poster used to pass on their PMs to other members just to cause trouble. So you may need to look closer to home and try and see if someone is setting you up.

This is an email I received some time ago in answer to a query as to whether my PMs could be accessed by anyone other than myself.....I asked because a few little comments seemed to show that someone might have done just that...

"Thanks for your email.

I can confirm that no one unless they have your email address and password can access your emails on your account, I can also confirm that unless given a reason Genesreunited employees would not access your message as they are private between you and your contact.

Please ensure that when using a shared PC, it is important that each member logs off (click the 'Sign out' link at the top right of the site) so as not to overwrite the other member's details the next time they log in to Genesreunited.

A way to ensure this is by setting the 'remember password' indicator in 'My Account' to NO.

If you follow the above tips, you should both be able to access your individual member details successfully.

Best regards,

Alex S

Pleas pay particular attention to this following phrase...." I can also confirm that unless given a reason Genesreunited employees would not access your message as they are private between you and your contact."......in other words a GR employee,if asked CAN read your PMs....

I draw my own conclusions from this....
