I had the most beautiful German Shepherd. I couldn't let her off her lead though. No she wasn't visicious she was a coward. One day on the beach only about 6 month old she suddnely yelped and did a runner saw a Weimaraner no she didn't run to it but away. What a job I had to catch up with her. When my sons Godson used to come she would run and hide. She did improve with age but never lost her gentleness. |

friends of mine have a big alsation Mungo - a failed police dog!! and you can certainly see why. They acquired a very tiny black kitten which had to be hand fed for a week or two cos it was so small. This little kitten decided to suckle of Mungo after ploughing through layers of shaggy fur and Mungo just lay there. The kitten is now about seven months old and when I visited yesterday was surprised to hear that he is still suckling off Mungo!! |

I've just started reading this thread & I'm sorry if someone has already said this but I take great exception to what Peter says on page 1 about Staffies & other Bull breeds. |

we've always had German Shepherd's the one we have now is brill. people are scared of him because of his size and yet he has been attacked by different breeds and never retaliated. i think some people believe they are vicious because the police use them, but the police use them because they are intelligent. but i must add the trainer we used always said "never trust a dog 100%" ,and even though we love him to bits, we have taken the trainers advice. |
