A friend of mine did Athena. I certainly wouldn't risk it!

My mum's periods got less and less. She was a lot older before she finally hit menopause though. She had a really easy time of it.

I would say you really need to speak to your doc. It could be hormone imbalance or polycystic ovaries. How heavy are they and are they painful?

I have the pill injection so i don't have any bleeding at all, i'm 45 this year, would a blood test be able to tell if i am starting menopause even though i don't have periods cos of the pill? i have awful hot sweats in the night, wake up soaking some nights.

Thermal ablation was marvellous for me...

The lining of the womb is destroyed with heat and so can't shed anymore (hence no more bleeding). Your ovaries are obviously left in tact, so no hormone adjustments.

I had two days of cramp and a little loss afterwards but after that nothing!

It meant we could go away without taking all the necessities you would find in a gynae clinic, no worries about flooding and not wanting to stand up. I'm sure you know what I mean with all the embarassment heavy bleeding brings.

I'd had a few D & C's for polyp removal and it was certainly no worse than those procedures.

Sue

can imagine the rush at drs surgeries now with everyone asking for it lol.

The flooding to stop would be god but am lucky only getting a day or so like that now, trouble is add in the FM and the memory loss with that forget whether have sorted myself out or not.
Do you think they do a little box like my pill box reminder so I wouldnt forget and end up a mess.

Gotta laugh otherwise I would be more of a wreck than I already am

Dawnie,

I am sure some whizz could make you a 'necessities' box with an alarm on!...lol

For me the worst part was getting up so many times in the night plus not being able to go away.

Friends used to laugh because when I sat down I was a couple of inches taller than them as I had the benefit of errrr.....don't know how to put this delicately.....extra padding!
Plus looking in the mirror to see if it was obvious, VPL wasn't a problem unless you change pantie to paddie!!!...pmsl
