Margaret, dn't let your OH make you feel guilty. You did nothing. Like most of us you are trusting of other people and don't expect them to be so dishonest. |

Cariad, Nann Lynn and Summer Scribe - yes I've sorted all the cards, bus pass etc. and you are right - it's the old photos and my rings that bother me the most. My Oh has just come in and I've told him. Sympathetic, well........ not really....... reaction was something like ' well for heavens sake didn't you realise when they were crowding you what was going on'? You of all people, you've seen things like this often enough on television' Men !! At least I don't keep my purse sticking out my back pocket like men do their wallets. !! Feeling a bit choked now. |

I feel terrible for you, it's awful to experience something like that. Make sure you cancel all your cards. I should imagine it's the photos that you'll miss the most. |

Sorry to hear this Margaret, we live in a very decaent society. we are always being warned about purse stealing in gloucester centre and it makes you paranoid, but it is so difficult to be constantly alert isn't it? |

Hi everyone. I have reported it to the Police and apparently there have been 8 over the last four days. They rang me a few minutes ago to say that they had looked at the CTV footage but it wasn't clear enough to see properly - just my luck. I was able to give them a very accurate description of the two women and they have alerted all the security guys on duty in town and they will be looking out for them in the next few days as they could well be the ones who did the other 7 !! I have no hope whatsoever of getting the rings/money/photos back because apparently their 'modus operandi' is to empty the purses of anything of value and then dump them either in the waste bins around town or stroll into the charity shops and put them in the pockets of coats/jackets for sale !! Police also said they are alerting the local 'pawn shops' in case they decide against keeping the rings and decide to make a few quid on them. |

Margaret,So Sorry about you loss,It seems theft is endemic now and you have to weld things down to keep them safe.Have you enquired if the shop has "Security Cameras"? they may be able to identify the B-----ds who stole from you. **M**> |

Popped into town this am for a few bits and walked across to Poundland just to wander round. Was a bit annoyed at two young women who shoved in front of me every time I looked at anything. It seemed every time I looked at something they chose to look at the same thing. Only stayed 5 minutes or so and went back to the car park. Got in the car, slung bags on passenger seat and though - that feels light - it was. There was a hole torn in the side of my carrier bag and my purse was gone !! I knew immediately what had happened. I could wring their necks. There was a £20 notes and change in it but also my bus pass, debenhams card, focus do it all discount card, three or four very old small family photos, and would you believe it my wedding and engagement rings !! Yes a stupid place to keep them but I was divorced some 39 years ago and they have been in my purse since then. I am livid. Wish I stayed at home now. |
