i had someone today that says we had a match and could i open my tree up to her. it was one person and on looking at her tree the person she had married someone diffrent and was born a diffrent year, i tend not to open my tree up untill i have got a link.had to many people take alot of the info that i have got and put it in there tree. and i dont have living rellys showing so no one can see alot becsause i have not always put a death date in,. lol

I've corsed quite a dissusion.
Sorry I didn't mean to take it out on Ian to.
Pat some people are cheeky. I will take more care in the furture.
I have done it so all my living relatives arn't showing, like rose I've not got a death year for everybody

Angela, believe it or not, I have the basics of my tree on here,and have the rest on Ged Com, I have found its the safest way!!

Just looked at my tree and he has at least taken me of his tree, as I back to 9 matches and not 10.
Will have a look around the site you have surgested after emmerdale and eastenders.

Give us their name, we will find them in the chart and give it to them, we'll rip it up them.

Oooh can I have a moan about tree thieves too :o)
Someone who was distantly related to my dad's STEPFATHER tried to nick my tree. I foolishly sent him a message, to see if he was interested in dad's stepfather, as he was an interesting bloke, and I could send him some info. to 'pad' out a name. Unfortunately it was during a GR 'glitch' and it opened my tree.
This bloke gaily copied my tree- mainly my mum's side - but in his haste guessed places of birth etc.-
Albert Turner is now more related to me than my own father was!!!!!

lol maggie........had the same happen to me, and when I checked his tree the 'relation' was a second marriage to some distant relation of his.....to me no connection at all.......and for this he pinched everything back to 1700......which was the work of a genealogist who had been working on the name for 35 years.......

......I felt so bad that this had happened I removed a great branch of my family.......and I hope his tree gets struck by lightening.....

I'm afraid I just changed the odd date and place of birth - but I have to remember which ones, so I can let genuine relly's know!!
I haven't got many names on my tree, despite doing it for 20 years - but I have an awful lot of information on the people I do have.which makes it even more annoying that he nicked it when I was going to give him information - he's obviousy just a name gatherer!!
Personally, I'd find it a bit creepy to have totally unrelated people on my tree - those I do have - even when I've found them through other people's trees - are researched by me before being put on my tree - I like to get to know them!!

Hi Taff, the GR Team didn't do anything as I asked him my self to take of my living relatives. They did say if I had a problem still to get back to them, but he's has made a start.
