lol Puss, I don't think I'm as old as many on here ;-) could get crisps for 5p but they were the really cheap make.

I remember the crispy scraps Lynda. We used to call it crackling. Had to have loads of vinegar on it though.

probably gone out of buisiness, with little darlings sticking them up ya jumper not that i did i was perfect, i was a savoury eater so crisps and nuts was my fav, have you seen the price of sweets now especially at the cinema and places so dear x

When the fair came to town we used to get a1p bag of black peas or roast spuds, (although they were full of eyes,) and we got a meat pie on a tray with soup off the mushy peas, mmmmm

I remember a big scandal at school when London TRansport put the child bus fare up from 10p to 15p. That was ten half pence sweets i couldnt eat if I couldn't be bothered to walk home!
