HI JOY

i still eat bread, i have toast for my breakfast and have a sandwich for dinner.

i have switched from white bread to brown though, it makes you feel full for longer because of the fibre in it.

hi penny,

well done to you too,

the book is written by carolyn humphries, you can get it in most book shop's like WH SMITHS and WATERSTONES, but tesco are the cheapest, i think it's normally on sale in these shop's for £6.99 so you are only saving a pound or two

Well done Karen

I was in Tesco's this morning - will have to try & remember about it next week!

I go to a Rosemary Conley class & try & follow her theory of low fat & low GI - I don't stick to it rigidly but make my "diet" liveable.

I have lost 30 1/2lbs since last July.

hi all,

hope you don't mind me dropping in but i have just seen this thread and found it quiet interesting,

can i ask what diet's you are currently following?

for years i have struggled with my weight and have been to countless weight watchers meeting and tried a variety of different diets ,including the atkins diet, and lighter life. i have even had tablets off my G.P but none of them have ever worked.

last october i went to tesco to do my usual weekly shop and i came across a book called 1000 classic low fat recipies, i had a little read an decided to buy it. it was only £4.97. quiet cheap considering all the money over the years on other diets

it wasn't one of you usual diet books with recipies that not many people would eat (which is what i usually find most of them to be like.) but a simply cook book showing you how to cook every day things like casserole's, currie's, fish, pie's, vegetarian meal's and even dessert's and biscuits, all using every day ingrediants a lot of us have in our cuboards already. plus there is plenty of thing's all the family can eat.

i gave it a go for a week and not one of my family complained i don't think they realized it was low fat food, even the kids ate what i gave them.

that 1st week i lost 8 pound

this book has been the best thing that i have bought i and find it easy to follow.

my total weight loss now is 3 stone 11 pounds and i haven't given up yet.

so i would just like to wish everybody here the best of luck, but if you happen to see the book on the shelf in you local supermarket, pick it up and have a look, and maybe even try it for yourself.

Hi all,

Well done to all that have lost and keep trying for those who haven't, dont give up!

I have stayed the same this week, think it's because I've been ill and eating for quickness instead of healthyness.
