	Here in Sussex.................a lot of houses up for sale with vacant possession are because the owners are elderly and either they have died or gone into residential care. Are there a lot of elderly in the area you are moving to? I hope you do get a sensible answer..............but the other replies are really funny:))))))) xx

	Have you asked the estate agents why so many are vacent possesion? When I bought my first house in late 80's lots I viewed were empty due to high repossesions - but the estate agents would say it was a repo and usually there was some minor damage, people would take everything out - one had the bathroom smashed to smitherines - they obviously thought if they had paid to put it in no one else would get it. Could also be due to high prices like some of Englands Seaside Towns. When people pass on the prices are too high for locals to buy so they are empty and normally bought as second homes by the out of towners.

	FEW YEARS AGO AN OLD SCHOOL MATE,,MOVED TO YORKSHIRE THEY RENTED 4 HOUSE FOR THREE MONTHS EACH IN DIFFERENT AREAS, AND FOUND THE ONE THEY REALLY LIKED WAS TOO REMOTE,A CAR ESSENCIAL ,,,,GOOD LUCK .

Is this the norm in Ireland??? if so why and how do they get round moving onto a new property - does everyone work on bridging loans or something ??
